So being a month out, about time to start talking.....and being that I just read this and it will have a major impact early, why not now......
CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) - Four Miami Hurricanes, including running back Tyrone Moss and receiver Ryan Moore, have been suspended for the Sept. 4 season opener against Florida State, coach Larry Coker said Tuesday.
Moss and Moore were slated to be two of Miami's top offensive threats this season, and both teams could be ranked in the Top 10 coming into the season. Linebacker James Bryant and receiver Rashaun Jones were also suspended.
Moore's suspension will also include the second game of the season against Florida A&M. He also was suspended for the Peach Bowl at the end of last season.
Coker said the players violated team policy and knew about the suspensions before Tuesday.
"It's all the same incident," Coker said. He declined to elaborate.

Notre Dame's schedule is pretty favorable this year. They only play 3 really good teams and 2 are at home in the first 2 weeks - Michigan and Penn State. If they win those 2, they'll be undefeated going to USC to close out the season. And they'll be ranked #1.
Nat'l Cahmps? Ask me again after 3 weeks into the season. See ND above, tOSU @ TX, Miami vs. FSU & @ Lousiville, Florida @ Tenn (scratch that - no way UF makes it through their schedule w/ less than 2 losses), and USC @ Arky and AZ and w/ Nebraska at home - they run that and they play no one til Cal and ND.
The Nat'l Champ could well be ND vs. the winner of the TX/tOSU game. I already talked about ND's schedule and TX and tOSU are in similar situations coming off thier game on 9/9. Should UT win, they'll be poised to run the table again knowing they can win w/o Vince. They'll have tough games against OU, @ TT and @ Neb, but they have a decided talent advantage vs all 3. tOSU, and even easier road as they have their hardest B10 games at home vs PSU and Mich. FWIW I have UT at -3 on 9/9 simply for home field advantage. Gonig to be another great game.

My two favorite teams will be awesome this year. Ohio State and Notre Dame will be strong this year. Notre Dame will be putting up 40+ points every week and I'm calling now that Brady Quinn will win the Heisman.

If Jesus Christ can't win the Heisman than I totally want Buddha to take it. That guy can block like nobodys business. Of course JC can walk on water. So he's got that going for him.

Do you guys that are sportsfans not religiously use initials for players? (pun intended) I know the UT fans do and I've totally gotten in the habit (that's a nun reference for you slower cats out there) of doing it as well.
Buddha will ever win a Heisman - how is he going to reconcile stiffarming someone w/ his pacifist attitude?

And aubs pops in with her great football commentary, followed by the hardy-har-har colloquialism for her school. Yeah, another football season is upon us.

Nope, she just likes the way cocks comes out of her mouth.
jpminter, I haven't looked at VT too hard just yet, but I would bet that especially w/ the 4 Canes suspended vs FSU, that they will have the leg up against The U when it comes down to the wire. I can't stand VT, but Beamer is a HELL of a coach.

jt09, yeah, we've had some issues recently. All of which are Marcus Vick's fault. But we have great receivers, runningbacks, secondary, linebackers, and a decent quarterback or two. We are going to be weak on the O-line and the D-line. If we can do okay in those two areas, look for us to be pretty strong in the ACC.

I'll see that and raise you a win on the road against USC and a tough fought loss on the road to the Horns.
This years BCS buster: Big Red.

J-Ro, I've been pretty busy with work since it's the summer. We get busy as hell so I don't get much time to get on here. Also with summer, softball and golf and other things have me busy at home, so less time there too.
Good news is, I did wakeboard for the first time in 5 years last weekend. WOOT!!! Couldn't land the tantrum though

HOLY SCHNIKES!!!!! The landscape of the B12 just changed DRAMATICALLY!!!!
OU has just booted starting QB Rhett Bomar off the team. He and one other player were apparently being paid for a summer job, but not working.
Here's the ESPN story, but apparently there is an AP story that names Bomar.
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2537332
OU is f*cked.
edit - that IS the AP story. My bad.

The video report - which seems pretty damning. Just as bad is the other guy dismissed will be JD Quinn, who was expected to battle for a starting guard spot. This will leave OU with only 6 (7?) OL on scholarship, IIRC.

DAYUM. They are having a field day with this on texags. OU's O is done! Peterson can't take on an 11 person defense.
I can't wait to see how this season plays out.
