hey,
i was wandering if anyone here has had some trouble with any of the 2006 hyperlite boots..

the leather on my era ripped on the front of the boot after only 5 ride.. and a friend of mine has had the same problem with the byerly boot..

did we have a bad luck, or is it that hyperlite chose a wrong material to work with?

Must be bad luck. I've never heard of any warranty problems with Hyperlite boots.

I've NEVER had a pair of hyperlite boots that I didn't send in for warranty at least once.

I strongly doubt every single one of those boots made will break the same way. I was hearing about the stories of the lf boots braking and everyone criticizing the whole glue and stitch and save weight plan lf is using on the pro plates and such. i have the watsons and haven't had a problem. The bindings aint made like steel chested superman and i'll bet the man in the line that was making your boot was just hung over.

why do they keep making crappy boots then?!!
i have a hard time understanding the wakeboard industry..
i come from snowboarding and i can easily ride a board more than 100 times in a year.. i do handrails, jumps, pipe, all with the same board, and it lasts.
i see so many wakeboards break, and up here in quebec we have a short summer, most people don't ride more than 4-5 months and i guess most riders will buy 2-3 boards during that period..

kinda weird.

Ya that must be bad luck because I know a few people who have hyperlite boots and havent had to send them in even though hyperlite kinda has a rep for having to send boots in because of being damaged. Does anyone know if there are any flaws with the 2005 hyperlite byerly boots. because I am looking at getting some and I heard that on th 04's your feet would kinda slip through the front.

After a season and a half of heavy riding, the overlays on my HL '04 Eras tore on the side a bit (both pairs at the same time). My local shop ordered replacements. They were fixed within a few days.

If you ride hard, you're gonna have problems with any brand of bindings. I've cracked two pairs of LF watsons in half, and I've seen Several pairs of 06 Era and Byerly Bindings torn up the front. I've Broken the sole on a pair of LF Sphinxes, and seen a set of Parks Bindings tear from being tightened. Even CWB, I saw a set of zeus's where every lace guide ripped out the frist time they were used, and another set where the hinge completely broke off the back of the binding. It Comes down to comfort and style, cause they're all going to break. And I know from experience that LF's warranty ir really easy to deal with, so breaking a set of bindings isn't that big of a deal.

I've had a pair of Hyperlite "Spin" series.. I JUST noticed a small crack on the left boot on the outer side. I've had them for four or five years. But 6 or so days ago I bought a '06 LF Watson with '06 Transits, and I can tell you that the transits last for at least a few days. Laughing but they got a one year warranty.

I don't see much different failure rates in HY versus LF... but.. they both have a bad rates. I've been very pleased with my 06 Murrays I must say. One of my Boa knobs is starting to strip but thats easy to replace and doesnt require sending them in. As tight as Boa lets me crank it down I won't complain. Not too many straps or strings I can tighten as much as a Boa system without worrying about ripping a strap off or tearing out an eye hole. A lot of the failure rates you see right now is these companies racing to create the "lightest" bindings.. gotta cut corners to cut weight.

Last year, I used the Hyperlite states and they were fine. If I were you I would have goten liqud force because theyre just a higher line of boot. And the reason i ride with Lf is because Ive heard that Hyperlite boots have been ripping.

Within 2 months of riding my new 06 3ds boots the glue holding the outer boot onto the rubber inner boot seperated on the outer edge and up and around the foot removing all support on the top of my foot. It happend mostly on my back foot but started on the front one aswell.
hyperlite is replacing them no questions, didnt even ask for a recept.

Hopefully if anything happens it happens within the year warenty because i dont esactly trust the new constrution methods quite yet. But still the best bood i have ever used.

Natman, holy crap, is he? damn.

malibu rider, yeah, your balls have to drop at least a 1/4" before you use this site.

as for the Hyperlite '06 series, I had a buddy up not too long ago that rides a '06 Parks 144 with the '06 Murrays. The boots looked ok at first glance, but some strings were coming out of the BOA system, but it still worked fine. It looked sloppy to me.

I picked up a pair of 06 Murrays about 3 weeks ago and I'm guessing I've been out about 18 of the last 21 days and haven't ran into any trouble with them.
