So right now im riding a 05 substance and i like the pop it has. I want to get the new ps3 but i heard it doesnt have as much pop as the substance. I heard the Watson is a good board. I mainly like LF boards but if any of you can let me know of a board with TONS of pop and a really LOOSE feel, let me know. _________________ www.boardernation.com

| The Watson does not compare to the PS3. IMO they made the Watson wayyyyy to wide, the PS3 is still a wide board but is very predictable, loose, and packs a TON of pop. To me it is like an 05 premier on steroids with all parts of the board perfectly chizzled and functional |

| kyle, can you make the PS3 tight with fins on? I like the speed, good pop, soft landings part of the PS3 but I hate loose boards. (I have a substance 141 now but I ride with stock fins for comparison) |

| LFADAM, i havent ridden it with fins yet but i was thinking about putting some small center fins on, i think it will ride REALLY nice. It isn't to loose for me right now, but i have been riding boards finless for a few years now so i am really used to using my rails |

My Watson is grippier than my Substance if I put the fins on them both. The pop is just as good if not better and the landings are softer. The board is also super light but that's just LF for you. I haven't ridden the PS3 though.
I ride in chop too often to ride finless. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

PS3, I have it and I love it, If u want speed to shoot you off of the wake then this is what you are looking for....but If you want pure pop then the Watson or Substance (which i also have) are good too |

| I dunno what loose is for yall but it is definitely not the Watson for me the but my Fish with fins on is 10x more loose than the Watson and my Transcend which is suppose to be one of CWB tighest boards is looser than the Watson. just my 2 cents |

| Rode the substance all last year and bought a PS3 this year and the board is amazing. It is everything that it's advertised to be and then some. What I didn't like about the substance was that it was a little slow and pretty harsh landings. PS3 is just the substance only better. To me it has the same pop, only faster and much softer landings. Rode it with center fins first few times out, took them out and it is loose as can be until you put it on edge and then it holds and just takes off. Awesome board. Haven't ridden the Watson but after riding the PS3, not tempted to either. |

| between my friend and i, we have an '05 hl premier, 05 substance and a watson and the watson is by far our favorite board with its amazing pop and light weight. i havent ridden the PS3 but i would think i would prefer the watson over the PS3 anyway because of the pop...and the awesome graphics are just a plus |

I've been demo'ing boards like crazy the last 2 months. I don't have the best knees so I ended up buying the 142 Watson yesterday. I love this board. I liked it better than the Substance because it had softer landings and it felt lighter + I liked the dull black look on top, bottom graphics are just ok to me. I picked up the LF Transi bindings too. Great combo. I probably tried 7 different boards, CWB Absolute, Gators, & HL. I just liked this one the most. I'm 6.0 foot , 190lbs. I originally tried the Watson in 138 and it felt to small. The 142 is great for me. _________________ 2006 Supra 21v - Wetsounds ROCK!!! |

I've got both sitting on my boat now. I found the PS3 to have a lot of energy, very predictable, with a nice stable edge. You can come into the wake a little more mellow that usual if you want, or you can charge it and send yourself flying into the flats.
The Watson on the other hand has (in my opinion) way more pop than the PS3 with a more stable ride. Not quite as easy to break loose on the water, but does have a softer landing. It took way more edge to send myself flying out into the flats with the watson than it did the PS3.
Both are totally solid boards. I'm sticking with the PS3 personally, I just like the way it rides a little better for whatever reason.
Edit: Just FYI for a few, both the watson and the PS3 this year were designed to ride 1-2cm longer than their lengths.(Example: The 137 PS3 should ride like a 138/139. Same with the Watson 138=139/140)
I'm 6'0 160lbs and went with the 137 PS3 and I've ridden the 138 Watson. You definitely have a lower swing weight with both boards without loosing edge or stability. |

Loose ride with great pop eh? I have just the thing. Seriously consider either the CWB Transcend or the CWB Marius. I have both and they are much smoother and easier to ride than any LF or Hyperlite I've ever ridden. Marius(w/o fins) rides almost exaclty like a wakeskate accept once you get on edge, you'll fly like a bat out of H-E-Double Hockey Sticks. The pop is awesome too plus easy to control. The Transcend bites into the water a little more than the marius accept it's pop hits you like a ton of bricks from the center of the board, thus giving you complete control over the board which is great. A lot of people are hooked on Hyperlite and LF but if you really want a great board then I'd say go for CWB. Good Luck. _________________ Live In Your World, See Through Ours - Fusion X Media |

Just out of curiosity, which LF and Hyperlite boards have you ridden? |

Ethan31, seriously, does it ever die?
I've NEVER ridden a CWB board OR Boots that I didn't like. And I've ridden quite a few of the '05 and '06 line. they're ugly, heavy, and cheaply made. |
