Who is getting out this weekend and where? I finally got my boat here and I am ready to learn the area. Would like to follow someone for a little bit. I really need to learn the waters around here.

| I am not sure. You are welcome to join us. If you don't mind hanging out the family. I could even go during the week. |

Well in Knoxville on the weekends.. you are lucky to find smooth water. During the week in the morning is when you will get the best water.. I mean hands down. Where would you put in at? _________________ "The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good."

utbubbad, I'm probably going houseboating this weekend in KY or I'd be more than happy to show you some good weekend water. You can find butter any day of the weekend if you're willing to drive a little bit. Melton Hill is a terrific strip of water, always butter, little bit of debris though. It's down towards the Oak Ridge/Pellissippi Parkway area, if that makes any sense to you? There will be a Melton Hill exit, but I'd probably go with someone who knows where to put in before I started towing around trying to find the place. And then there is always Norris, go towards Lexington from Knoxville, you'll pass Powell and some other exits, get off at Norris, take a right and look for the signs for Sequoiyah (i can't think of the spelling to save my life right now) Marina. Again, it'd be better if you could meet up with someone to find the place, but those are the two best spots I can think of for weekend riding that you'll find great water. Norris is much more scenic. I have some friends who run a boardshop at Seq. Marina who are on this forum (jhill and gwakesetter) who could probably give you better directions than me, or better yet, may be working this weekend. I'm not sure their hours though and don't want to volunteer them for the task haha.
Furthermore, in the mornings you can find butter wind-hidden lengths of Lake Loudon. We rode on 4th of July weekend from 9am till noon on Lake Loudon and it was a sheet of glass.
If you need any help finding anything, feel free to PM me and I'll shoot you my # or something.
Good luck and I hope you can get some peeps out with you this weekend. _________________ '05 Supra Launch 24SSV |

| utbubbad, I ride up on Loudon Lake actually near the Pellissippi Parkway Bridge. The channel is kinda wide, so the wind can be bad on some days, but most days when I go out during the week, there's practically no one out there all day. There's a lot of debris after storms of course, but it works for me because it's right next to my house. LoudonTN is right though, you can find some really good stretches on the river even during the weekend if you find a windproof place, so Knoxville area's got plenty of options, and these guys will definitely be able to help you out. I would say I could show you around, but I'm fairly new too, and these tips have helped me also. Anyways, have fun if you can get out, and best of luck to you. |

DeloBoarder, I ride out of wake eater's place with him on his 21v, and it's in that area around Pellissippi Parkway bridge too. Good water out there. _________________ '05 Supra Launch 24SSV |

LoudonTN, I read one of your posts before when you were talking about riding in the Knoxville area. I had just joined the site and you posted a pic of your new house that's being built, nice place by the way...well today I was out with some buddies ridin' and I could've sworn I saw it haha. We were turnin' around to pick up a guy that had fallen and I looked at the shore and just yelled out, "holy crap that's LoudonTN's house." Anyways, yeah my family docks at Fort Loudon yacht club even though we're not members, Travis Marine lets us use one of their docks back there whenever we wanna put in and leave it in. Small world, eh? I'm sure I'll see you around sooner or later. Ha, I'm a newb, so it's easy to spot me trying to ollie and go w2w without success for the time being.
Knoxville1212, I was out there today from about 2-6. We were hangin around the bridge for the most part. Yeah, it was pretty windy out there today. I rode on the way back in to dock, and when we turned up the main channel where the wind is free to screw up the water immensely, my legs took quite a beating.
It's cool that there are some Loudon riders on the site. Have fun, and I'll see ya on the lake. |

| LoudonTN, Directions were great. We put in at concord marina. The launch area is really small. Some of the lake homes are awesome. The water was good considering the wind and other boats. We stopped a fellow boarder on the water and asked him where to go. He wasn't sure becuase it was his second time there. So, we both ennded up on the same stretch of water. Then a red supra came thru. We were glad to get water time. Thanks for the Directions. |

utbubbad, it's good to hear you got some water time. These guys know the good spots, and I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it
wake eater, yeah I'd love to get together sometime if I see ya. My family drives a white bayliner outboard. Small boat, but I'm new so it works.
Knoxville1212, that was a crazy house...it's weird how the internet makes it seem like everybody lives so far apart, yet all of us are right here in the same area...very cool.
You guys have fun, and I might see ya out there next week. Haha, gotta go to bandcamp this week, so I wont be out again til next Friday. Later |
