Please help, I'm lookin at buying a wakeboard. I kinda posted this in the Newbie forum as well and it was suggested to me to post here because you all would be more knowlegeable to this topic.
Ok to the point! I'm 17 years old, 5"4' and new at wakeboarding. I dont have a boat, i just tag along with my friends whenever possible. But they dont have a wakeboard so I want to buy one. I can get up fine and carve ok. I want to start jumping wakes next time out. Right now I'm looking at a Mary Jane 134 gator board with bindings for around 200 bucks.
The question is... for a newbie how much should I be spending and is this the type of board that is right for me? If you have any suggestions, please post.
Oh and QUICK question about the bindings too... are there certain types that are easier and quicker to get into than others? thx _________________ How can you make a difference if you are afraid to be different? |

I just started boarding as well a couple of weeks ago and got my own setup.
I got a Liquid Force Diva 134 with Element Bindings package. the set up was about 300 from wakeside.com
I am super happy with it. The board is pretty poppy and I am already able to land small jumps. I will say I had been on a larger board before so this one felt a little squirrelly the first time up on it but I love it now.
I was out on it this morning! I am also 5'4'' about 130lb but a few years older than you.
Hope this helps |

| I have that exact same setup and I love it. I had another board and I took it back and got the Diva! I have been so much happier with the Diva! I am 5'6 and a little heavier and the 134 still works great for me! I was out and up on it doing some surface 180s the first time! The Element bindings are not that hard to get into, although I use straight line LAVA lube to help! |
