Over a year after asking about a pontoon boat on the Newbie forum, I'm still researching boats that I can use for wakesurfing and wakeboarding.

The Moomba Outback seems like the best price for an inboard boat, but I was also wondering about a jet boat like the Sea-Doo Speedster Wake.

Anyone have any experience with either boat? Willing to give me guidance?

Thanks.

If you want wake you will not find it in any type of jet boat stay far away from them as far as the Moomba goes in my opinion I do not like the way they are built nor the wake they put out but thats my preference. As far as boats you can use for wakesurfing the only boat you can use for surfin are inboard boats I don't really want to link a picture of what could happen if you bought a I/O and tried to surf.

Yeah, I've gotten the "stay-away-from-I/Os" for wakesurfing message. I don't need to see the pics, I'll just use my imagination.

After reading the board for awhile, I did use the search function and it was great! I highly recommend it to other newbies like me.

As far as Moombas, there seems to be those who love 'em and those that don't. And I haven't yet found anything positive about the Sea-Doo Speedster Wake as far as wakesurfing or wakeboarding. Plus it's more expensive than the Moomba Outback.

There is a nice chart showing a "budget wake boat breakdown" with good used boat options that might make a wake boat more affordable.
