|
|
On the couple of occasions I have attempted a backroll I somehow end up doing what looks like a blind 180. I attempted 10-15 times on the weekend and every time the same thing.
Has anyone had this problem or does anyone have suggestions for overcoming it?
I have tried cutting in just from the whitewash and having a longer progressive cut ...always the same problem! At least it is a consistant screw up.
Please help.
Cheers

^^...
but don't pull too hard with your back hand or you will do a roll to revert. haflway through the rotation, try to let go with your back hand. that way, you will be straight up until you let go, but even when you let go, it's not going to make you rotate too much, if at all. |

| Ya, by blind 180 I think you mean back side, and I seriously doubt you are doing that. If you are doing a BS 180 then something is very very wrong with your backroll. Are you sure it is a backroll you are trying, BS 180s are common on tantrum attempts. You are probably just doing a regular fs 180 which = roll to revert. In this case follow jp's advice |

Apparently what I am doing IS really strange. No one can really explain what I am doing wrong but they all say blind 180.
I cut at the wake, my board starts to go UP and away (behind me a little) and then I start rotating in a spin motion instead of the cartwheel/roll type motion. I think I am looking over my leading shoulder but perhaps not. |

actually, I had the same problem, excpet I took it all the way to a bs 3.
when approaching teh wake you have to turn your chest towards the sky. When I did the bad bs3 looking attemps, I would be looking at the boat and not opening up my chest.
I havent landed one yet, but im close. real close now. |

| Are you letting go with either hand? When I tried I kept letting go with my left hand (left foot forward) and was doing something similar. |

Grab it for ages, wait until the last minute to let go of the grab, and you'l have a BIIIIG styley grabbed BS 1... Much cooler than a backroll |

| throw a mexi roll.. that's how u do a roll to blind or a KGB. backroll is for R2R and Mobe. I personally can NOT do any of those, no balls to go upside down. well, yes i have balls. just not enough. peace. |
