Hey I'm just wondering if wearing a helmet while riding helps at all with your confidence. And does it really stop those crazy headaches backside edge catches?
Thanks.

| QNev, the helmety makes you feel more secure until you have a good fall and realize how much more your neck hurts from being dragged around by the bucket. Save the helmets for sliders and ride without it. |

I say it will definitely help you throw tougher tricks...but not because it increases your confidence. Saturday I was out riding and decided I needed to try and huck a backroll or attempt a 360 for the first time and stop being a puss...so I had my buddy toss me the helmet after a fall. I had the helmet strapped on and did a few w2w jumps, then finally was lthinking "alright, I'm gonna looks like a b*tch if I've got this f*cking helmet on and don't try something". So I threw a backroll...got about 80% of the way around. Fall wasn't bad at all. Threw a couple more w/ the helmet. Then Sunday attempted one w/o the helmet, but water got too choppy so session ended early.
Confidence booster? No.
Motivation to not look like a beyotch by not trying new stuff when you asked for a helmet? Definitely. |

| The helmet has ear protection. Not just a few riders have blown thier ear drums. I say it is definatly worth it just for the ear protection alone. Plus a rogue board to the head is no fun. |
