| Wondering about the factor or tattoo and if anyone has them. I am more interested in how they pop and are they a decent beginner/intermediate board that you can grow on. If you do have this board or have ridden it, have you ridden it with the huge center fin or taken it out and used just the two molded fins? Wondering if this should be the next purchase. There's a chance a guy wants to sell me his with the torque bindings and it's pretty new. |

About to try my new 2005 Flame out tomorrow and I'm a beginner. I won't be able to rate the pop, but I can give you my feelings on the 2 inch center fins. I also have the '05 Torq bindings. I'm considering getting a set of .75 inch center fins, but I'm gonna ride it with the 2 inchers first. _________________ 1998 Moomba Kanga w/ 6' Skylon pylon

I had the CWB Pure '04 I think it was. The pop was really good ut I got rid of the 2" centre fin as it just sucks you to the water and surface tricks are just dangerous!!! I bought some .75's and they were much better. (I tried it with no fins but I found it too slippy, some poeple like this though, it is just a matter of trying a few things and seeing what you like best.)
Try buywake.com for fins, I have heard they have everything and are really good.
One word of warning though, not all fins are universal, make sure you get fins that are compatible with a CWB board. Sorry if you already knew this but I thought it was worth saying.
Also, if you are buying the Torq bindings second hand check for rips. I know a few people, including myself, that tore straight through the binding at the top of the laces.
Having said that though I REALLY like CWB stuff. |

Rode the 2005 Flame today and it was sweet. The water was real choppy today, so it wasn't the best day to evaluate a new board. Anyway, the 2 inch fins don't seem very obtrusive because the board has so much bend to it. Even with the 2 inch fins on the board, it got pretty slippery at times. I didn't try any surface tricks except for a butterslide on the peak of the wake. I don't know how much bend the factor or tattoo have, but this flame seems to have a huge curve to it compared to my buddy's hyperlite. It seems to add to the 'pop' of the board, but right now I'm only up to about 2 feet of air anyway. _________________ 1998 Moomba Kanga w/ 6' Skylon pylon

| Thanks for the reply. I actually chose to get a new one with the Torq bindings. I really like the board. Very predictable. The two inch fin seems a little much in smooth water. I don't think I'm going to keep the fins but I love the board. Well I expecially like the bindings. But I'm also just learning. I appreciate the feedback. |

| ya, 06 factor 136 with 06 Torqs. Was out again this morning at 6:30. Water was glass and the girls were in bikinis. Oh, back to the board. It was great. Comfortable, predictable. I'm getting better and this board will be fun to learn on. |
