|
|
We just got back from five nights at one of the Lake Oroville floating campsites. The day we arrived the lake was just 1' below the full-line.
The problem- - -floating branches, limbs and even tree trunks. I'm not talking about just a little stuff. It was everywhere to the extent that a fall while riding could be fatal. We checked the main body of the lake and all three branches. There was no place to avoid the mess.
We bent our prop the first day. The people next to us bent their prop too. Unlike us they didn't have a spare. I talked to another guy who bent two props in one day. Numerous times I had to swim under the boat to dislodge debris.
I'm not mentioning this to bad-mouth the lake. We won't hesitate to return at some other time. Just want to let everybody know to exercize extreme care at this lake until the debris gets cleaned-up or washes to the sides. |

| If the water level on a lake is raised then it will dislodge all the crap that drifts to the shores. |

| It's the same at many lakes in NOr Cal with the water management emptying the lakes to much and all the trees being grounded. Then a few days later letting the water fill to 99% full and all the trees go right back onto the lake. It Sucks, like dodging cones on a auto cross track. |
