ive had this problem recently with my board, its a LF search 135

some times when im just about to cut into the wake the back end of the board breaks loose like the rear fin broke off, it messes up my whole approach and then other times it cuts like a champ.

anyone have any ideas? the water is never rough where i ride, always glass smooth

im riding the stock fins, i belive they are about 1.5"

yeah, if you cut like a champ other times I doubt that it is your edging, so check on those fins

You should not slip while edging no mater what your fins are doing.

It may sound counter-intuitive, but put more weight on your front foot and bend your knees more.

It will also help if you start your approach, not by turning the board, but by letting the boat start to pull you back to the wake and then edge strong.

Well said.....

You are not riding the edge of the board if you are slipping out...period.

If you are experiencing an initial looseness when initiating the cut into the wake you are cranking into the cut too hard AND not putting the board on edge. I'd slow everything way down and drift into the wake before you even try to put the board on edge.

i ride a subjekt 137 with no fins... its flat, you should try riding more by leaning and digging your back foot into the water than turning the board to edge.

agree with those guys, slow down a little, let the slack get out, let the boat start to pull you back before you set into your edge, work on carving and SLASHIN!!!!!! sounds lame but it could help u figure what the problem is, if anything, take the fins off and ride like that Cool

i rode a search, u need to put all your weight down when cutting
so it doesnt slide out and you cant lean back to far cause it
doesnt have many fins.

That's just a crutch. Learn to edge properly and you'll be glad you did.

The Search is a loose board, if you don't execute really good edge control it will come off edge. If you're set it's the board, move into the Evo, Omega, or something higher up.

I've seen your pics. You don't lean back, you squat.

Here's a pic I pulled from another post of his:

from that picture it looks like u need to straighten up and hold the handle closer to your hips. also use your heels more to cut in. it looks like if you were to let go of the handle, you would fall flat on your back...you dont want to rely to heavily on the rope for support

Yeah. You cant be putting much tension on the rope with an edge like that.
