|
|
| hi, im looking into getting a new board this year and narrowed it down to either a watson or ps3. has anyone rode both of these boards who can give the pros and cons of them? also, im sort of leaning a little towards the watson, but dont know what size to get. im 5'9" and 140 lbs. i would get the 138 but they say that its wider so to downsize 1-2 cm. any sort of comparison between these two boards would be a great help. |

In a somewhat-non-sarcastic way, I would recommend using the Search button. There have been a ton of threads about this very board comparison. You may even get a dozen or more threads that also compare it to the Substance and Shane.
As far as size, the 138 would be perfect. Don't downsize, this is America. |

| Have you rode the shane yet? I haven't tried the ps3 but I prefer the shane over the watson. |

| Its all your personal prefrence, i persoanlly like the PS3 better because of its shape, but the watson board has a ton of buck it really pulls you out of the water, try and find someone to ride with that has eihter board. |

I'd choose the Watson for the center spine alone, over the PS3. I haven't ridden the PS3, but the bottom design looks like a 02/03 HL Premier, without the full length tunnel. _________________

I got to demo both boards and I went with the Watson. The PS3 felt really rough and aggressive, but was still a really good board. Just look at the guys who's names are stamped on them. Watson is super smooth, yet can be agro at the same time and his board is designed to fit that style. Philly Soven is super agro and super tech all the time, thus his board is designed for his style of riding. Just try to figure out how you like to ride and choose accordingly. Also, Watson = wake to wake pop and PS3 = wake to wake + occasional flats. _________________ "I just want something more than to come home in my cool looking SUV, sit in my king sized leather recliner and watch reality television on my widescreen plasma TV...How easy it is to care for someone when you dont have anything else..." |

| I've been riding the PS3 this year and my bro in law just bought the Watson yesterday so I'm going to take a few turns on it next week. I can tell you after demoing almost EVERY board last year (Parks, 3DS, Transcend, Team, Substance(which I liked the most) Premiere etc.) that nothing compares to the PS3. Every day I come home and my wife ask me what I'm grinning about and I just tell her I absolutely LOVE this board. The board will do whatever you want it to. You can ride it mellow or very aggressive. Has huge pop and can go way out into the flats as well. Landings are much softer than the substance. Finless it is nice and loose but locks in great on edge. Haven't heard anything bad about the Watson but couldn't be happier with the PS3 myself. |

Epic, yea its really just all in how you like your ride. You'll never know until you try it out. Sometimes, depending on how many different shapes you've ridden or how long you've been riding, you can just look at a board and know how its gonna feel. But for the most part you really gotta try it out on the water. _________________ "I just want something more than to come home in my cool looking SUV, sit in my king sized leather recliner and watch reality television on my widescreen plasma TV...How easy it is to care for someone when you dont have anything else..." |
