Ok I've been wakeboarding twice and I can get up and everything fine. I can carve left and right on heels or toes but everytime I try to come from outside the wake to inside I crash and usually faceplant. Do I just need to put all weight on my back foot is it that simple or am i missing something.

Also I would like some tips for an ollie. Thanks All for you help to this NEWb.

When your coming from outside to inside and faceplanting it means you are probably coming in a little too fast and getting a little pop off the wake which is causing you to lose control and catch an edge. Try to start about 5feet outside the wake and slowly edge into the wake very softly and keep the same edge all the way to the inside and use your knees to absorb the wake. Also if you start getting wobbly let go with your back hand, this causes your shoulders to go parellel to the board and regain your balance. Just remember to keep your handle in one position the entire time don't get alligator arms.

ya as K-Wood said...start small and keep trying to jump the wake in segments, first do a 1/4 w2w jump, then 1/2, then 3/4 then full... baby steps always are helpful and one othe thing is when you are jumping the wake to not try to "Jump" just stand up as you are going up the wake, if you try to jump then you can have an uneven launch and fall forwards.
hope that helps!!

i think i can put some clarity on this for a 2nd timer. when k-wood said " let go with your back hand he means wichever foot is behind you on the bard let go with that hand. and if u are just tryin to ollie then practice it outside the wake. the water is too turbulent right behind the boat for a newbie to try to ollie in. when ollieing just dig in your back foot and lift up on your front foot and let the board pop out of the water. don't try to hop out of the water as this will just frustrate u
