Well i started wakeboaring about a month ago and i love it. i got a double up wakeboard about a 141. i have started edging, riding in and out of wakes. and trying to get jumping down. i have 1.75 fins on them. im wondering if i should take them off or downgrade to smaller ones? am i ready or should i wait a while. my board is basically a begginer board with liquid force bindings. im also wondering when should i get a new board a more intermediate board. and if you could point me to some brands (im thinking hyper lite or liquid force). i dont want to spend too much money and plan to use the same bindings. anserw both my questions please if you can.
Thanks - Smile

hey man...
K to answer the first question using fins or not isn't about getting better it's just a preference thing...if ur board has molded fins some guys like the "looser" feeling from finless while the molded fins still track while carving into the wake..
Secondly i'm no god on a board but i learned HS FS 3's on my old byerly 137 with continuous rocker and 2 larger plastic fins with no molded fins and some old obrien sport morphs. so u can progress with the old board n my bindings were worse than yours..i rode my old setup for 3 summers n now i wanted to upgrade cause i'm getting into inverts n i wanted a lil mor kick n comfort from a 3-stage rocker and new more comfortable bindings.
So basically ur board will work for a while till u get all ur basics down n some basic airs like 180's n a 360 or two. n the fin setup is just a personal preference not skill level.

DDOUBLEUP, what model is it? What makes you think it is a beginner board?

Is it this board? Maybe a different color but the shape is the same. Beginner? Absolutely not, that is one of my favorite all-time shapes, not to mention it's the shape of the style master himself Greg Nelson. Don't worry about the board, it's a classic, just work on your edging and technique. You'll be fine.

I just upgraded to an Obrien Player 138. It has a 3 stage rocker, and dual molded fins on both ends, plus you can bolt on the third fin at each end if you like a tight ride to your board. I am excited, because my old obrien board feels really loose, and only has the one bolt on fin at each end, and it a continuous rocker, so it is kinda hard for me to pop it. I am learning the game as well, getting up to the wake, but the board is a pig now that I have lost about 40lbs, and it is a 142. I am not sure which board the old one is, but it is considered an entry level beginner board as well.
