Hey folks. Just picked up wakeboarding a couple of weeks ago from a good friend of mine that invited me out
Been out on the lake on it about 3-4 different times and *really* enjoying it.
I'm comfortable now with getting over the wake, edging heelside and toeside. Just beginning to get the hang of riding switch stanced, but still uncomfortable with switching stances @ higher speeds... (pulled a couple of face plants last time out trying it.. i keep either catching the front of the board, or leaning back too far and landing on my butt)
Anyone have any tips on something i might be missing when im turning the board sideways? Or some other things i can try working on when I dont wanna try to face plant yet again? Or atleast not on the same trick heh.
I normally ride goofy foot (right foot forward) if that makes any difference.
Looking forward to chatting with some of you bout my new obsession! |

| Slow the boat down. Your board will feel less locked in at slower speeds. Stay directly behind the boat also, that way the pull is coming from directly infront of you instead of some weird angle from the side. Some instructional videos even recommend slowing the boat all the way down to 15 m.p.h. to practice this trick. Once you get it down you can do it at about any speed. |

Yeah, i dont have much of a problem doing it when the boat is getting up to speed (about the speed you're talking about) But When I go into switch stand the board balance feels completely different. Feels like I'm really have to push down with my front foot to keep the nose down. I think it's just a balance issue i'm having because i'm not used to it.
When we're at about 20mph or so (when the wake gets tighter, and the water firmer) is when i have issues about getting the board sideways |

| Also, What should i try when im getting tired of playing with switching stance? Any other fairly simple things i should try? I'd like to start playing with getting a little air off the wake, but am pretty intimidated about it, afraid i'll completely lose control if i get airborne. |

| When I ride I have noticed that my left foot (forward foot) is always straight with the back one bent some. When I switch up I have to striaghten out my right one and bend the left. It is just something that you have to mentally do until you get switch down. You don't have to clear both wakes right off the bat. Start launching off just one first. When your feeling confident with that then you can aim to jump a little but father and try and land the down ramp on the other. Also known as the wake to wake jump. You could try some ollies too. |

Oh yeah, I'm definately not going to try wake to wake yet. I'm just wanting to try a little air off of one of them. Ollie is a good idea. Never done one on a skate board either so should be interesting with a couple of good falls i'm sure
Any tips on doing an ollie? or On how to start jumping one wake? Last time out I got all but the back of the board off of the water on a "wake hop" |

i must've posted describing an ollie at least 20 times...do a search on that one..n other than that you could try surface spins...maybe some ollies...also if ur intimidated about going off 1 wake try an inside out jump n just hop n land on the downslope, just start in the middle of the wake n jump from the inside to the downslope...it's a nice smooth transition...then go 1 wake then w2w...generally how u learn a trick is ollie-inside out-1wake-w2w. _________________ Smile at the hotties on the boat...Huck ur new trick...Nail it and they'll think ur Wicked..and even if u bail they can soothe u afterwards:D...
