Which is better to use? I have heard NON-STRECH is better. What are the pro's & con's?
I wakeboard behind my mates bayliner. Rope is attached to back of boat, not high on a tripod thingy. We just bought a bladder for the front of the boat and it has made a world of difference to the wake! (If you need one I reckon its $ well spent).
My level is beginner. Crossing wake TS & HS is alright. butterslides average. HS W2W shakey but land a few although not much pop. Last trip I was putting into practice technique (read from here) to get more pop. It worked well because we were getting heaps of air but I was not landing any. After reading more I think I know what I'm doing by not holding my edge thru the wake, so thats on the cards for next trip.
Anyway, whats the deal with the ropes? |

get a non-stretch
when a rider falls with a non stretch rope everyone is safe...and i think it is somehow a lil bit better for edging and getting more pop
when you fall with a stretch rope...the handle could go flying into the boat and hit someone |

My buddy has a bruise on his bicep from a stretch rope slinging back and nailing him while we were in the boat! Non stretch is the way to go imo. _________________ Lets Ride!

| Non stretch is definitely the way to go. By not stretching, it keeps the line taut, helps for a good progressive edge. |

besides the already stated facts if u use a non stretch wake when u pop off the wake it springs back towards the boat which may pull u off axis ...go non stretch..i switched and i'd never go back. It's what all the pros and pretty well everyone on this site uses. _________________ Smile at the hotties on the boat...Huck ur new trick...Nail it and they'll think ur Wicked..and even if u bail they can soothe u afterwards:D...

Non-strech. By far.
Pros:
-They are way better. Thats just it.
Cons:
-They can be alittle more exopensive. |

There is no doubt in my mind after using a non-stretch spectra rope, I will never go back to a regular rope again.... Much better pop off the wake, easier to get a good edge, helps pull you out of the water better.....Other than the fact it is more expensive there is no down side _________________ It is better to be thought a fool, then to speak and remove all doubt. |
