I have just a straight rope, no sections. Is there a way that you can shorten it but also so you could put it back out again? I dont have a tower or pylon. I use the 2 hooks on the back.

There is a knot you can make in the rope that's known as a 'Bowline on a bite' that is easy to put in and take out in the middle of a rope. I tried to find it online for you but I'm at work and busy. Try and google it and find a way to make it and it should work. If it doesn't there is also a 'sheepshank' knot, but I'm not sure it has a loop to attach to a pylon or the like.

Good luck

Glad to be of service. I registered just for answering your question. Now it's time to read around and ask my own questions! Like why the bow of my new boat gets SO high in the air when I'm accelerating.

trim it down when accelerating...gets u on plane faster...(assuming u have an inboard/outboard) or just drop the trim tabs down

Thank you Brath5; I shall try that. I thought I kept it mostly down when I was out there last, but I was more focused on trying to watch the Godfather on DVD.....

Where should the trim be when you are pulling a boarder? Do you change it from having it down when accelerating to keep the bow down, to when you are at a steady speed? My dealer was great in all aspects except for teaching me anything about how to drive the damn thing....I think he thought it wasn't my first boat.

usually with my buddy's glastron we'd have the same deal...with us hooked up to the tower and the back of the boat leaded up the nose would soar so we just trim it down out the hole then when we get going we usually either trim it perfect for no pull or trim it up a little more if we want a bigger wake...usually if there's enough people in the boat u shouldn't have to trim up for more wake.

Today's lesson: When taking your girlfriends step-mother on the boat, and she sits up front, and the bow stays down, don't say loud enough for all to hear 'With that fatsac up front we stay level better'

lol nice man...i say things like that when the ladies are up front...they love the teasin...unfortunatly then they make fun of me if i bail...although once u pull out the bag-o-tricks their awesome to have around Cool i forgot to mention we went out with a slightly more hardcore/ghetto boat that had a pylon and couple sacks loaded down...we had to sit up front at the start so the boat could get on plane, then climb over the pylon when we got going to make a nice wake. Sucked soo bad.
