|
|
I started wakeboarding a month ago and I have been riding 6 hours every weekend and i have started to try w2w 180's. I can get the rotation and clear the wake, but everytime i go to stick the landing, the board slides out from under me and i land on my butt. I have tried over 30 times and i'm so close but i just cant get the landing. Any suggestions? _________________ I love the smell of napalm in the morning |

That's what happened when I first tried them. When you land, keep riding away from the wake. So if you are regular, do a HS W2W 180, then your right foot is in front when you start to go down the wake, keep riding away from that wake. If you try and stay straight the board will go down the wake and you won't, causing you to fall on your arse. _________________ If the minimum wasn't acceptable it wouldn't be called the minimum. |

#1 issue is under rotation with HS w2w 180s. If you assure that you do a full 180 rotation then you should land riding away from the wake on your toe edge like .Eric2929 mentioned. If you land flat bottom then you are going to continue to wipe out each time. _________________ O+<| |

Two suggestions:
1) Practice toeside progressive edge switch to get used to landing on your toes
2) Don't look down 'cause that's where you'll end up. Try looking at the topd of the trees on the shore you're crossing towards. I had to totally think about this or else I'd land and watch my heels slide out from under me. |

| Your not going to land it if you don't learn to ride switch. It all related back to the basics. |

one problem i had with the 180s besides not edging out toeside when landing is i didn't fully rotate my upper body...let go with the back hand and make sure u get ur shoulders inline with ur feet while landing on the toeside edge _________________ Smile at the hotties on the boat...Huck ur new trick...Nail it and they'll think ur Wicked..and even if u bail they can soothe u afterwards:D...

like they said, kinda land with ur weight on ur toes a little bit so ur riding away from the wake, i had the same problem but that cured it for me _________________ i dont like people playin on my phone...i keeps it real |

This is the best tip you will get, always look out to the horizon when landing. Also you may want to practice this inside out to get the feel of landing switch before you take it w2w. |

yah man ur not rotating enough...when u land u need to have ur board facing the way ur goin...i had the same prob..i wasn't gettin it right around...just spin it another 45 or so n you'll have it. i'm likin the lil surface 1's basics first (especially riding switch) and make sure to get the progressive edge down. looks like ur letting off ur edge on the way in n not extending the legs when u launch...keep that edge right through the wake...it should get harder n harder as u get closer to the way...keep goin man.. _________________ Smile at the hotties on the boat...Huck ur new trick...Nail it and they'll think ur Wicked..and even if u bail they can soothe u afterwards:D...

Ya i noticed that i was only rotating 90 and thats why my board was sliding out. But I'm going to Ski Rixen this weekend for 4 hours and I'm going to work on all my basics like the edging and riding switch and some ollie 180's. _________________ I love the smell of napalm in the morning |

sounds like a plan..before i had my 180's dialed in i was doin hop 180s out in the flats...carve out heelside to a decent distance so ur still edging then do a fs hop 180...it'll get u used to landing on ur toeside edge n riding it away switch with one hand..(if u let go). _________________ Smile at the hotties on the boat...Huck ur new trick...Nail it and they'll think ur Wicked..and even if u bail they can soothe u afterwards:D...
