I only rode about 4 times last year and bought myself a board. I bought a 06 LF team but I don't know what fins to use. I've heard that some people take out the center fin and some use none at all.

In the begining it is best to have all the fins in until you have a good strong edge coming into the wake and you have a smooth landing coming down the wake. The fins help you to stay stable as you begin to edge and they also help to keep you from sliding out when you land. Once you are comfortable with both these then you can experiment by taking out the centre fins. Removing the center fins will give you less resistance when you are trying out butter slides and surface tricks.

Agreed with madtekniques. However, if you ride finless, it will force you to ride with specific attention to your balance. Once you put the fins on you will be able to edge so fast you will piss your pants as you soar over the wake and land in the flats.

I'm thinking of just starting my riding over from the top. A guy I ride with said you are better off learning your butterslides and what not at the start. So I think the start of this year is going to be no fins in the board and back to basics. After I get the butterslides and ollie stuff down I will go w2w.
