I was wanting some helpful tips for getting better pop off the wake. Is the edge into the wake the key? This is my second year wakeboarding and I am wanting to progress a lot further this season.

My key to getting pop is not get in a hurry. Cut out wide, then drift to let yourself slow down (by doing this you have more time to set up other and jurking back toward the wake and being out of form). Next sit back like your falling in a chair and keep the rope a waste level for equal pull on the top and bottom of your body. Once you get to the wake stand tall and stiffen your knees. From there you got to use your imagination.

do this... cut out 15 or 20 ft. let the rope get tight while cruising out there in the flats then take a slow progressive cut in just as southwaker says like sitting down in a chair. about 5 feet from the wake stand tall the wake and board will do what they do. i recommend landing as well to prevent faceplants.

yeah when I first started doing surface 180's I found out quick that faceplants are not so fun, sudden gushes of water up your eyelids tends to sting

To practice the surface 180 you are going to want to slow the boat down.

I just learned to do them my doing it right as I pulled up out of the water, and snowboarding helps your goofy stance a lot as well
