|
|
Any hope for this one? Friend of mine rode her LF Luscious all last year, this happened on literally the last day. It dried out all winter and we hope to patch it up for at least part of the season, can this be fixed with epoxy or JB weld? Any ideas? I have put skis (snow) back together with less, but I don't have a clue when it comes to wkbrd repairs. Already tried to warranty the board but she was a couple of months late. Thanks.

You can fix that. Use Jb weld. I would sand off about a 1/16" off the tip so that when you glue it down it doesn't bind up. And you may have to sand where the crack is also. The key is to make sure it will go down flat again, otherwise you wont get a good bond with the JB weld. Apply a thin coat to both sides. Then use packing tape. Tape the crack up first then run the tape from the bottom to top side pulling it tigh.

I've fixed boards with this kind of delam. I usually remove the delaming portion of the base and fill the entire area with a slow curing two part epoxy. Once the epoxy sets up you can sand it smooth and to match the contures of the base. The only problem with leaving the existing delam area is that you will never get it to set totally flush with the rest of the board.

Epoxy is generally the accepted way of repairing boards. I've never heard of anyone using JB weld. That is definitely fixable.

tear off that piece and fill it with epoxy then sand down the rough spots its not the prettiest but its the best solid fix that'll last for years.
