I know I'm going to catch crap for this, but here goes. I'm not an environmental loon, but using dish soap or shampoo is not very healthy for the water you swim in.

I live on a lake frequented by the public and the water gets really sick and nasty during wakeboard season. Huge trails of soap bubbles run behind the boats of wakeboarers that use soap in their bindings. Giant foam scum bubble things wash up on shore. It's not only disgusting, it pollutes like crazy.

You know those commercials about how it only takes one drop of Dawn to do a whole load of dishes? That crap is ultra-concentrated, and when you dump half a bottle down your bindings is like the Exxon Valdez running between your toes.

Our lake got closed down about ten or fifteen years ago due to an algae bloom of some kind and I don't need that again. Pay a few bucks and get some bio-degradable binding lube from your wakeboard shop. The fish and your neighbors will thank you!

One thing to keep in mind is that stuff such as like shampoo or sunscreen can do a number to your bindings by wearing it out or something.

I mean how much more can a bottle of designed stuff be? It could save you more money in the long run.

Zack_Attack, hell, I have even taken a dump in the water...I had some baaad chillie fries at the docks' resturaunt and we were in a cove miles away from a floating toilet, so I pulled my shorts down and let it all out in the water. It was actually kinda nice because the water instantly cleaned my mess, so I needed n Laughing o TP!

muckmeister, Asuming you can stand on the platform, what you want to do is push your foot into teh binding as far forward as possible. NOT DOWN but forward. try to get your toes as far in as possible. You should at least be able to get so that you can see the tips of your toes in most bindings. Anyway, after you have your foot as far forward(without pushing your heal down yet) as possible, grab the back of the binding and pull it straight up while pushing your heel down and slightly forward. And boom, your in without lube.

I realize its not easy but the more you do it the easier it gets. I have ridden at least 15 different bindings from back in '97 when there where no laces to the new stuff and I have never used lube to get into a binding. Its all repetition. The more you do it, the easier it gets.

i dont think u need any fancy lube, just mix a bit of dishwasking detergent (biodegradable for the fishies) and mix it with water. You dont need much deterg. but it does the trick. I put my mixture in a little spray bottle and it makes it much easier. I used to hav exactly the same problem. Either use a slime, get new bindings or just start wakeskating Wink
