I'm getting all new gear, and I'm looking for some advice on choosing a rope and handle. I know that no-stretch is the way to go, and usually around 70 feet. I've heard that spectra is good, but does this float?
I know absolutely nothing about handles. What is considered a good shape, good weight, good price, etc.?

Thanks!

BigMace255, Accurate makes some pretty sick handles, I like the solid design because when doing handle passes if you grab it crooked you've alsways got something solid to hold on to. AS far as the spectra rope, dont know much other than it is expensive.

BigMace255, I have the accurate jacket line and murray handle, all i can say is, its a sick set-up. The line floats like my life vest and very soft on the hands when about to get pulled back up, the handle is a dream to ride with. My old handle was a hard tacky one which hurt your hands if you rode with it for too long. The carbon handles are extremely light, but ive heard they're not that stable.

Do a search for them and see what you find.

Thanks for the info guys.

Does shape have anything to do with it? Straight up triangle, bent triangle, some even look closer to a semi-circle. What is the difference, or does it just come to personal preference?

I like the triangle type a lot more area to grab. Carbon Hanndles look and feel great but they are too expensive. I havent heard anything about them not holding up though
