Hey, down here in alabama its been in the 70's past few days...that means the water's warming up!! so i'm hoping to be back in the water spring break.

How 'bout everyone else....lets hear your location and when you hit the water!

Are you going to go in a wetsuit or just brave the cold?

I'm hoping to go when the temp has been in the low 80s for at least a week.

For North Carolina, that'll probably be in more than a month.

DrummerG, I think my hubby and I are going to be cruising Guntersville sometime in April but I dont think we will be in the water until May. We HATE cold water. Wetsuit or not its still cold. HA might even get a wetsuit for early may. We may need it. LOL

So would this be going in wetsuits or going without?

I never really got what "warm" water is. Air temp I know, but water temp I'm not so sure.

I follow a simple formula.

When itch to board is > Lake water temp = Riding season starts.

This usually happens anywhere from late Feb. to early April.

I know the feeling. Where on Guntersville do you ride? We usually hit Honeycomb by Sunrise Marina or across from the Boat Mart off of 69.

Blindside 137, I don't really have a place that I ride ATM. This is going to be my first year, first boat, etc. My family and I are going to try out different lakes, and settle on a spot, probably by the end of the year.

--Sharp--, thats about 15.8 degrees F. and that is extremely cold. Im glad its 26 Degrees celsius where I am, i dont know if i could survive... i hate cold weather.

BigMace255, Lake Gaston is really the only lake i know of to ride on, Falls lake is good but extremely small and im not sure about Kerr(sp?) lake. but gaston can get pretty choppy at times...

DrummerG,
I still haven't seen you at school yet or met you. I will definitely be down for riding down to g'ville this summer and enjoying a day out with you or more. It looks like we are selling our boat, and not replacing it, so i am going to be bumming rides off people this summer.

On guntersville we are trying to get a riders contact list going. So if you want, just PM me your info (I already know your name, i just need your email, and boat model, and if you want to hang out with other people who wakeboard this summer.)

Just let me know. I think me and Brandon Howard are heading out over spring break too. Do you know brandon?

No way haha. That's awesome, we usually ride over in honeycomb. Wakeboarddrumma and I been talking about getting together this summer, maybe even try to boost the local Gville riding scene. I sent you a PM about some of this by the way. Maybe we can all ride together semi-regularly. More the merrier I always say Smile PS--Nightangel is my wife. Anyway, maybe I'll see ya soon.

i learnt to wakeboard in june last year the start of winter
and no one wears a wet suit here
i guess we get the opposite our water is hot atm its like wakeboarding in a hot tub november through march

Here it's been about 0-15 celcius for the past few weeks. It's hard to say when we'll be back in, because one day it was 20 and the next day it snowed. I have no idea what the water temperature is, but it probably won't warm up anytime soon Crying or Very sad
