Got out to ride today. 82 degree air, 72 degree water. Perfect. Light breeze, nobody else on the water, not glass...but definitely butter. Take my first set...start off with a couple grabs, backroll, switch HS 180 w/grab, tantrum, toeside 180 w/grab, HS FS 360, switch HS BS 360 to faceplant. No biggie...I'm happy with the first set. Get up...start off with a HS FS 360...got pulled off axis...busted eardrum. Nice. It's been 12 hours now and the damn thing is still bleeding. Guess I'll be going to the doctor tomorrow.

I can still hear out of my other ear. I told my wife that at least now I have an excuse when I ignore her.

It's not that I have a good memory, it's just that's basically my whole bag of tricks right there.

Nickdakoolkat - The helmet and ear plugs are on order. Rad. Cool

Oh, the doctor today told me I had a ruptured eardrum (wow, 10 years of college to tell me that. I learned that on Wakeboarder.com in about two minutes). Said I have to see a specialist tomorrow to see how bad it is and if I'll need surgery or not. Can't wait.

BEEN THERE, DONE THAT !

i busted my right eardrum on the same trick. Wasnīt big deal. I got recover in about 4 weeks.

I now (sometimes) ride with earplugs, just in case, when trying new tricks.

Ask your doctor about that, if itīs safe.

I have ruptured mine 3 times. For awhile I could actually whistle out of my ear. Laughing They all healed quickly. I might have a partial hearing loss in my right. But F it..... no reason to give some chump your money that can't do anything about it anyway. Very Happy

My 15 year old niece got hers popped with a soccer ball and was told it would heal at her age on it's own. Older people may require some surgery.

My daughter used to have ear problems all the time, had surgery, got better, the whole bit. We found an earplug that is great for wakeboarding. Doc's Proplugs, I think the website is www.proplugs.com. They make a vented earplug that allows you to fall while riding without inserting the plug into your brain. They are a bit more expensive than most, but well worth it.

8 bucks is expensive?

Well I guess normal plugs are what, a buck?

Cool stuff man, I may look into getting some of this stuff. Protection = fun in my opinion. I like my ears not bleeding.
