| I bought myself a wakeboard last week and took it out to give it a go on sunday, and i'd already been reading up on how to get up and etc. But I couldn't get it, i tried gettin up horizontally but the roped pulls my board underwater and its just like a big bulldozer lol. I am trying to get up behind a normal outboard boat, not a ski boat with a ski pole..but me and my mates mucked around for awhile and one of us managed to get up with the board vertically. I was just wondering if this is how you should get up behind an outboard? |

Inboard, Outboard, Jetskis and i/o's.. Getting up is all the same (unless you're behind a 35 HP Johny which in that case, do a deepwater start) Just keep leaning back and if you fall back, you know you've leaned too far.
1. Lay on your back in the water with your rope between the bindings ontop of your toeside edge.
2. Give a signal for the boat to start accellerating, and at the same time, concentrate on keeping your toeside edge up when sideways.
3. Know whether your goofy or regular, and turn the board and keep leaning back on your back leg. _________________

I went out again this weekend and gave it a lash. I managed to get up on my 3rd go. I changed my style and used my V ski handle, placed the board vertical and put it in between the V, took me awhile to get used to going sideways (cause I ski alot) but felt awesome. Really slippery but |
