| Ok im a complete newb and was wondering how to rig up a center console to pull a wakeboard. Im probably gonna use the tie down hooks to connect the rope to, do pull ropes float? I was wondering because how else would you keep the rope from getting caught up in the motor. Also what would be a way of rigging up a removable swim platform or a ladder. The boat is a 21ft kenner |

Most wakeboard ropes and handles float, so you should be good to go there. Waterski handles do not float. If you find one that does it has a wooden handle. Wood+water=garbage so get yourself a good wakeboard line. Most bridles float also, this is what you'll attatch your rope to. Be careful backing up, but other than that you should have no problems.
A ladder is your best bet, you should be able to find a collasable one that hangs over the side of your boat. Installing a platform will most likely be expensive and involve drilling holes into your hull which will need to be sealed and you will have to install some pretty substantial backing plates. _________________ www.midwestmastercraft.com

| I used to ride behind a Mako 21' center console. It worked perfectly fine and we got some good air off it. We did have a Pylon though mounted in front of the console. This helped a lot with keeping the rope out of the motor but isn't absolutely necessary. Also, to help with the wake, when you get going, trim your outboard up a little bit. You will notice the shape and size of the wake change. Play with it till you find what you like. Last but not least, If you have any storage compartments or wells in the back of the boat, fill with water and weights for built in fatsacks. Well, take it easy and good luck with your boat. |
