| Whenever I ride for longer than about 5 minutes, I get a very bad pain in my lower back. Is this just a strength thing that will take awhile to get used to? If not, how do I fix it? |

It could be anything really, I would try to just relax and let your arms take the brunt of the pull. I had the same problem and I usually do every year for the first week or so. Normally it goes away. You might also want to check your stance. You may be ducked in a little bit or something and that can cause strain on your knees wich in trun causes strain on your lower back. Check your normal stance on ground and compare it to where your bindings are set at. _________________ Holly Bay All The Way! |

keep your torso upright when your riding. don't bend at the waist at all or your back muscles will get sore real quick _________________ Does this rag smell like chloroform?

I've had the same problem, you should try to change your stance to switch when it starts to hurt, ride switch for a few minutes, and go back to normal, this way your back gets some rest in this position.
But when you ride more often your back gets more trained for wakeboarding and you'll be able to ride much longer. |

Some vests have lower back support in them. My boyfriend had the same problem and it was all related to his stance. Typical guy tried blaming it on the vest/line/handle/board...etc

| I have a real bad back and i'm only 19. Before I even get on the boat I stretch out on shore real good, and I also use a dead lift machine at the gym to build my lower back strength and to also stretch it out. |

STRETCH!!!! Just like BioliteRy said. So many people dont stretch before they ride but it makes an huge difference. Make sure your hamstrings are loose before you ride, tight hamstrings are one of the most common causes of lower back pain. _________________ Bondo saved my wakeboard's life!
