Dutch Masters hold together well.....Phillies fall apart to easy once you cut them open....the coconut ones are a nice change of pace, though.

Any of the Fuente Hemmingways or Fuente Don Carlos are awesome. For a less expensive smoke that is still very good, check out the Rocky Patel Edge Series. These are a must try for everyone! They are pretty stout though.
For hard to get cigars that you can get in the States that are excellent if you can get a hold of one, try the Fuente Fuente OpusX and the Fuente Anjeo.
Also, sign up for the JRCigars.com e-mailing list. They will send you a special via e-mail each week. Some of the specials are great! I ordered the Halloween Grab Bag Special for $39.99, and I received 32 Cigars (8 of which were high quality including Punch's and Monte Cristo's), a stainless steel cutter, some humidor accessories, a lighter and a Monte Cristo Leather Smokers Jacket. I was very impressed.

As far as cheaper cigars go,
Anyone (Canadians?) smoked Captain Blacks? I used to smoke them alot when drinking. Especially loved the sweet tipped ones.
ALot of my friends smoke colts as well ....
I still prefer my pipe

DunDunDun, I used to smoke cap'n blacks like a mad man ... I've pulled back though, and now haven't smoked one since early december. I still smoke my pipe about once every 10 days, so I guess im doing the same damage to my lungs.

How bad are cigars for you really?
Right now I've put some of the sugguestions here in my "cart" on one of the cigar sites. Lets just say it's adding up in price. I may have to wait to next paycheck to purchase some.

If you just take the smoke in your mouth, like a gentleman, they may eventually cause mouth cancer. If you inhale, like a redneck, they are much worse than many many cigarettes.
Right now if you take a Life Insurance exam and you say that you smoke more than 1 cigar a month, you get the smokers rate. that might explain some of the risks.
I think tonight is a Cohiba Red Dot night.

J-Ro, one of my friends had to take that exam, and they swabbed his mouth to see if he would be under the smokers rate ....

Well, after sharing half of a bottle of rare beed, finishing a short story each, and spending about 45min of quality time with a good buddy shooting the shiz, I'd have to say it was an awesome night.
Thanks for starting this thread.

BigRed, that is what it is all about. Its cool to float around in the boat, hang out on the back patio, or walk up the 18th fairway with friends, but a good cigar seems to make it that much better!

750ml/2 = 375ml
375ml/2 = 187.5ml
1 shot = 45ml
so
187.5/45 = 4.16 shots each
Not as bad as previously thought, but good work BigRed!

We each had a sifter before the smoke and then one with. Probably about half full each time.(~3oz/each).
The first was over ~ 1hr. The second one was with the cigar ~ 45min.
~ 4 shots (sipped) over 1 3/4 hours.
Not terrible for a thursday.

Stopped by a local cigar shop and picked up an A-Fuente Gran Reserva. Looking quite forward to trying it.

Well let's dig up the past.....
After not smoking cigarettes or having a chew for 1+ years..... I went to a local smoke shop and picked up 3 Padron 1964 Anni's and sat on my back porch and smoked one in the afternoon watching the games.
Sat on my neighbors back porch in the evening and smoked the second with a glass of Woodford, he had the third.....
Thinking seriously about jumping in feet first.....

I haven't touched my cigars in months.
Miss em. I need to bust out and have one soon.
E - don't go overboard. It's an EXPENSIVE habit!
Unless you just smoke Swisher Sheets.

E.J., Don't do it that is how I started smoking again (several years ago) and had to go through the whole quitting thing again.

I'm a big fan of Bolivars, Cofradia Cuban Coronas. Great smokes, right size. Pick them up at my local JR Cigar in NYC. I'm also a fan of Romeo Y Julietas, A Fuente, and Punch. When able to get Cuban cigars, Partagas are outstanding (the Dominican variety is less good). Very bold and flavorful.

damn whoever brought this back to the top. Haven't had a cigar in probably a year, and now I am feeling an urge to go pick some up.
I can't afford to start again with my taste.

Crap, I'm feeling the need of a nice cigar after the week I've had. I plan on some seriously powerful alchohol and a cigar.
