Ok, I did a search, and not many posts on this. Has anyone actually used this yet? Can anyone provide a review? I saw the blurb in WBM, but want more input.
I am looking at this one:
http://www.buywake.com/catalog/detail.lasso?cat=46&man=Liquid%20Force&sku=LI_y8XAS

I don't have an iPod, I have a Creative Mp3, and my wife isn't too crazy about blasting my music on the boat.

Thanks

I got one, not the LF model, but the 128mb from Freestyle Audio, which is the company that makes them. I felt I didn't really need to have 60 songs on there when wakeboarding, and it was about $80 cheaper than the LF model they produce, which is 256mb. There website is www.freestyleaudio.com

I must say, I love it. I haven't gone riding with it yet (just got it a month ago), but I do use it every time I hit the pool at the gym, and it has made quite a difference being able to listen to tunes while swimming laps. It is completely submergible down to 10 feet at least, and it floats. Taking into account that you ARE in water (or underneath), the sound quality is very good. There are no bells and whistles on it (equalizer, LED readout), but you don't really need that stuff for this. The headphones do take a little bit to get used to, as you have to cut them down to fit your ear, and then they kind of screw into your ears. You get used to it real quick though. The buttons are simple and easy to manage in the water, plus it comes with a cool and very practical armband to fit it in. Managing music on it is super easy, and the battery on this thing when fully charged lasts for like 40 hours or something. I can't wait to hit the lake with it, I think it will really make a difference in my riding, as I am get very motivated when listening to tunes while skating or running or whatever.

If you like listening to music to get you pumped (who doesn't? look at all the snowboarders who wear headphones while riding), then I highly suggest you get one. Great product.

wake_carver, dude, tell your dad that you cant yell to a rider anyways. Wind noise, water splashing, and engine noise are loud enough for you not to be able to hear a person in the boat. Thats why there are hand signals.

It's funny that everyone doesn't note the obvious.. Do you really want to slam super hard with a headphone in your ear ? I am thinking some damage would happen. Sure they are rubber/silicone but I don't think I'd trust them.

johhnyringo - I ordered it directly from the Freestyleaudio website.

Afrodeziak - what do you think would happen? I think they would offer a little more protection than having nothing there. This is coming from someone who has blown their eardrum 3-4 times from wiping out while riding...

Ocean Rider, what size did you guys get? The 128mb is a lot cheaper than the 256, but I don't know if I would be happy with the 128.

craiger, How many songs will your 128 hold?

Does the player have a shuffle/repeat feature in it? Or does the player just go from song 1-30, in that order with no mixing it up?

And is there any difference at all between the LF one and the Fusion (besides the outer graphics)?

johnnyringo - my 128 will hold 30-35 songs, plenty for a riding session in my opinion. Like Ocean rider said, you're only listening to it when your riding, so you put your best "pump you up" songs on there and go.

Sinkoumn - it does not have a shuffle feature, and it won't repeat one song over and over. It will go through the list in the order you put them on and then start over again, (so it does repeat the whole list). Like I said in my first post, there are really no bells and whistles with this thing... but how else are you going to listen to your tunes while riding, (without blasting the whole lake and your boat out)? That in itself makes me not miss the features that other mp3 players have.

Sinkoum - forgot to mention the only difference in the LF model is the graphics, and the LF model only comes in the 256 size.

I don't have mine yet but I would say you highlight the song by clicking on it once, then left clicking on it and scrolling down to where it says "Delete" or "Clear" or "Erase".

I think I will be ordering mine next week as well.

I will probably go for the 256mb, for $50 more.

I wish it had a shuffle feature though.. maybe through a firmware update?

I will contact Freestyle Audio and ask...

AOliver - I didn't know they had the 128 size with the LF logo... note that you can get the 128 for $20 cheaper without the LF logo, it's the exact same thing.

Regarding your question, the 128 holds 30-35 songs, the 256 holds 60-70 songs

and yes, altering your playlist is super easy, just drag and drop to add songs, and right click and delete to take them off.
