I have a very hard time riding switch. I only get to ride about every other weekend due to work. I usualy get pissed trying due to it being just plain uncomfortable in every way. It is starting to realy slow down my progresion in my riding. No snow where I live and the only other thing I have been told to try is skateboarding. Is there anything else to help me? _________________ Its hard being a chick rider, you have to know how to ride, and make sure your still wearing your bikini after busting. |

Not really... getting comfortable riding switch has alot to do with the handle positioning and stance. It doesn't really cross over to a skateboard.
The 2 minute drill that they teach on The Book dvd is really good for getting comfortable riding switch.
The basic gist of it is this- start outside the wake on the left side. Cut out and back in 3 times. After the third time when you are near the wake do a surface 180. Cut in and out 3 times. After the third time, when you are out away from the wake, do a surface 180.
Cross to the other side of the wakes and repeat.
When you get better, you can do the same thing with backside surface 180s.
They suggest doing it at the beginning of every set. It warms you up and gets you used to controlling the board switch. |

Thanks. I have Murray's Detention but it does not say much about riding switch besides it being a mental block. I realy need to buy the Book. _________________ Its hard being a chick rider, you have to know how to ride, and make sure your still wearing your bikini after busting. |
