R.I.P. James "Shorty" Carrol
This morning James was on his way to pick up his girlfriend before school and as he came over a small hill he was hit head on by a 4by4 that was in his lane. He was killed on impact and the driver of the other vehicle was life lighted off.
Today we lost one of Texas' up and coming wakeboarders. He was a great wakeboarder, but more importantly a great person. James was the one of the first people I met who enthusiastically taught others and found joy in other's achievements. I send out condolences to his father who supported him 100% and was always there to help out in anyway possible, his girlfriend, and his friends. If you knew him you know how special he was and I will miss him dearly.

Shorty was 17. He rode for CWB McEnlley Wakeboard School and other companies. He won the 05 TSR cable Adv. Showdown Series Overall. He was well versed in cable and boat and was a great guy to know. _________________ www.soswakeboard.com

When my buddy Rio called me up with the news I was quite shocked. I had only met James a couple of times and I've ridden in the boat with him once. He was definitely a nice, cool kid with a lot of talent. It's such a shame to see someone like that go so soon. |

The loss of any 17 year old is huge. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of James. I have a 17 year old and I pray that his parents (and friends) are seeking Gods comfort to get through this whole tragedy. We are truly sorry for your loss. _________________ For God so loved the world, He gave His only Begotten Son, so that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life! K-wood, hang in there. Be strong for his family and friends. Do you know Shorty's friend Cameron? His dad called my son this morning with this news.
Shorty was to come here this summer with Cam and his family. I am sorry that we never got to meet him, from all I've heard, he was an exceptional young man.
My condolences to all his family and friends, including you. I will keep all of you in my prayers.

Well Shorty's funeral was today and it was touching to see how many people came out to pay their respect. His dad looked strong and has his eye on the future. He wants to continue helping us all in the wakeboarding industry and said this year will be one of the best. I shared good memories with his family and friends and it was a pleasant send off for such an amazing person. Although his time with us was brief he touched many people and I'll remember him best with that big grin on his face throwing air trick after air trick as he struck awe into everyone in line waiting for their turn.
