hi all
i would love to get into wakboarding and my dad has a speed boat that he never uses to the combo is perfect. the trouble is his engine is screwed so he will have to get a new one. now this boat is only about 12ft so its tiny but i was just wondering what sort of engine size would we need to get pulled out of the water, i've been told a '30' engine size would be alright, any ideas on what i would need? do any of you wakeboard with a 30 engine?

mutley, never heard of a 30 engine. What is that..30hp? 3.0 liters? 30 heads of lettuce? Be a little more specific. Usually youll want 75 hp or more for that size boat. (Assuming its a fiberglass hull, not like a rowboat..if its a rowboat...30hp to 50hp.) Most wakeboard boats have 300 hp but they are MUCH bigger. Ive gotten up behind a 7.5 hp boat with a dock start but it only went 15 mph floored.
