I'VE BEEN DOING SOME RESEARCH ON BUYING A BOAT AND DON'T KNOW WHICH IS THE BEST FOR ME.

THIS WILL BE MY FIRST BOAT WHICH I WILL PRIMARILY USE FOR WAKEBOARDING. I'M CERTAINLY NO PRO (ONLY HAVE DONE IT ABOUT 5-10 TIMES A YEAR FOR THE LAST 15 OR SO YEARS). MY WIFE JUST WANTS THE BOAT FOR GENERAL RECREATIONAL PURPOSES (HANGING OUT, TUBING, AND MAYBE SOME WATERSKIING).

THE BOATS I HAVE PICKED OUT BY LOOKING AT ONLINE ADS ARE:

* 2002 MASTERCRAFT X7 - USED W/ 212 HRS

* 2005 MOOMBA MOBIUS LS - NEW

* 99 AIR NAUTIQUE - USED W/ 310 HRS

ALL OF THEM RUN ABOUT THE SAME PRICE RANGE (27K-30K). I AM LEANING TOWARD THE MASTERCRAFT, BUT I ALSO LIKE THE LOOKS OF THE MOOMBA. CAN ANYONE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION THAT COULD HELP MAKE MY DECISION A LITTLE EASIER. THANKS MUCH.

Personally, I would go with the Moomba.. brand new, warranty, you know what you are buying.

tprkolbas, I have a 99 outback direct drive right now. the only problem I have with it is that it's a direct drive. you mentioned wanting to just be able to hang out on the boat and I find that the hump for the DD is really a PITA when you're trying to move around. I don't know your finances, but if you can swing an extra few thousand, I would highly recommend you go with the 2006 mobius lsv. A 2005 lsv would be OK as well, but there were some major changes in the hull, tower, layout, and options for 2006...just some food for thought.

Don't leave out the best choice of all!!

You should be able to find a new hold over Centurion for about the same price as the Moomba and you will be getting a much nicer boat IMHO.

I can deliver!

I personally have a big problem buying a new boat and I probably never will. I would rather let someone else take the depreciation hit. I almost bought a brand new Supra Launch a couple years ago for $43k but never pulled the trigger. I found the exact same model I almost bought a little over a year later for $34k with less than 100hours on it Shocked .

i mean if you dont care about the space at all, then dd is perfectly fine, it does take up space once you start loading your boat with sacs, but like i said if all ur going to do is wakeboard then thats not that bad
