I just got done on my DIY pylon and it works great. I did it under 100 dollars and it does not move and there are no screws in the boat. Im waiting for the pictures will show you in a day or 2.

extended pylon or is it for a boat with no pylon to begin with? im quite interested in this no screw method.

Sorry about the wait had some computer problems. The boat had no pylon. I used a floor jack for the pole i have a cable to the front and 2 rachet straps to the back>

Why does everyone use the ratchets on the back? I used one on the front, makes things alot easier, and I think the ratchet straps look ghetto so the less the better.

we took a boared and drilled a hole threw it the size of the pole. Then we screwed it to another bored and just set it in there with the cable and the rachet straps tight id does not move.
