I'll try to get some friends together and see if we can head down there too. Does anyone know how long of a drive it would be for around Vancouver? _________________ Take off you hoser |

lets see.. bout an hour from vancouver to bellingham right? then another hour - hour and a half to baker.
I don't want to sound pessimistic or anything, but I'd be amazed if they open that early. So everyone, don't stress too much about planning. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/damoncall/

It would probably take about 2hrs 40mins from downtown vancouver. Considering it takes me 1hr 45mins from langley. I'm talking from my door right to the parking lot at baker. |

Well I'm in Coquitlam, I didn't want to say that cause no one would know where it is. I assume you do since you live in langley. _________________ Take off you hoser |

Check the site now, expected opening November 8th. Doh, I'm only in town front the 4th to the 7th. Enjoy locals, you deserve it after last year. Or maybe you deserved last year after 98-99 _________________

It shouldn't matter, greenvalley has more then it ever did last year, and thats the only run thats open.
I wouldn't be suprised if they had to download people to the base by the time it opens.
But no matter what, were looking a helluva lot better then last year. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/damoncall/

Laugh Damon, who is managing the rental and repair shop these days? I loved my job at Crystal in High School, I worked the repair shop friday and saturday nights which left all day saturday and sunday for riding. |

Is this the earliest opening ever? 3 foot base with another 4 feet coming in the next few days, its going to be rediculous. Backcountry this weekend and I'll be up riding on Tuesday thru thurs so holler if you are headed up. |

I really hope its a good season this year. Last year it sucked ass. I went to Whistler and the conditions were horrible. I'm planning on hitting up all the mountains in the interior of B.C this winter so I'm pretty pumped for that. _________________ Take off you hoser |

ha ha they are talking about 100 inches on pan dome by tuesday, thats more base than most of last year and thats 100 real inches, not the Colorado way of searching for the deepest snowdrift on the mountain measuring it multiplying it by 2 and then calling that your new snowfall . Baker Rules |

Snoqualmie isn't gettin dumped on like the bigger mtns, but Alpental should have a good base. But they've got to catch up and open.

man you guys know what I mean by Colorado measuring. I've got a place up at Vail, and I hear locals claim of epic day this and that, Resort claims of 8" of fresh blah blah blah. and then I go out and maybe 4" have fallen since the day before Of course thats why I never even consider riding out there and just rent the place out to silly ass rich people who don't know any better. |

In WA when the snow falls it does just that, in areas like CO and UT the drier snow is much more succeptible to blowing around. So while 8" did fall it has accumulated in areas where the wind isn't as prevalent. WA doesn't have this problem as the Cascade Concrete is heavy and sticky. _________________
