Go out as far as you can, then wait for the boat to catch up to you. When you feel the tug again, lean back as hard as you can without bending your knees. Don't stop going at the wake, and don't hesitate(I tend to do this a lot.). Trust me, it's way better to land outside the wake than inside. If you get it just right, you'll land on the slope of the other wake, and it is a *smooth* ride down.
Go for it.
Oh, and the board should be about perpindicular to the wake...but try not to let the nose catch the wake. You know the rest...*faceplant* _________________

1. Don't listen to I m tpl; that is completely wrong.
2. Cut out about 10 ft and let off your edge.
3. Begin a PROGRESSIVE EDGE into the wake (for more info on prgressive edge, check out the homepage of this site.)
4. Stand tall as you begin going up the wake.
5. Land on edge and ride away

It's what I do, and I easily get wake to wake.
Ah, oh well. You're the master. _________________

gottalandit, hey,, this is what you need to do. All this information I am about to give you, is the same that I get students to do.
Cut out of the wake either hs or ts. Lets just use hs though for referance. Begin with a 5' cut outside the wake. From here, edge in with your body low, and knees bent. As you approach the wake, stand tall, and dig your heel side edge into the top of the wake with your knees fully locked. This will ensure that you stay on your edge and you power off the wake to get correct pop. If you are familiar with lifting weights, squating in particular, then it is the same motion when exploding up. You dont jump, but you force all the weight up hard and quick. After you do 3 cuts from 5 feet, cut out 10 feet. Repeat the same drill, and really focus on exploding up, holding your edge all the way through the wake itself. At the peak of the wake, again, dig your heels in just as you have exploded up. After 3 times from 10', move out to 15 and do the same exact thing. Now, finally, you get your full cuts into the wake. What a relief, you get to put this all together, and get booted off the wake, and clear it. Any door knob can clear the wake with hard cuts, but it takes talent to get the pop. Which I just learned you. Now, with your full cut. Cut outside the wake as far as you can go, and then let off your edge. DONT BEGIN YOUR CUT TO SOON, OR THE SLACK IN THE LINE WILL DAMN NEAR KILL YOU WHEN CUTTING BACK IN. Progressivle edge back into the wake, gradually building up more and more speed, until you are damn near layed back, with knees bent about 5' from the wake. At this point, begin to stand tall and bring the handle low to your hip, or even a smidge lower, BUT STAY ON YOUR EDGE, and when you hit the crest of the wake, dig those heels into the wake again, and get booted. It may take a few trys to get the timing perfect, but when you do, you will be able to throw down 4 or 5' of air, on an unweighted towerless i/o with only the driver on board.
RECAP: 3 cuts from 5, 10 and 15 feet. Explode up as though you are doing power squats, but dont jump off your feet either. At the lip of the wake, dig your edge into the wake itself. You want to stay on edge all the way up, and through the wake. Then, with full cuts, progressive edge, and put the rest to work. Holding the handle low helps with landing, which is very simple. Simply land on the same edge you took off on, and you will be alright.
If you have access to a digital camera, or even better, a digital camcorder, then video yourself. If you notice that the nose of the board is flying high, simply keep your weight a tad more centered. _________________
