|
|
I have a bayliner with no tower. Looking for something to get the boards over the side kinda like a bike rack or something. Anyone do this? See this? _________________ Dream as if you'll live forever, Live as if you'll die tomorrow. |

Yeah... Like this? Also, if you want, you could get a transom mounted one I saw it done on a post somewhere for a Sea-Doo... The mounting shouldn't be too pricy if you get it done somewhere. _________________

Here's the Sea-Doo. It's a different idea, but that could possibly work.
(That's one nice jetski ) _________________

Just came up with it
I was thinking, you could do like what they did on the jetski.. If you have a short pole or pylon, you can get racks that can mount on a vertical pole as seen on monster towers and whatnot That may be a cheaper alternative.
As for making the racks... I am horrible with metal. You could probably cut it with a 1/4 inch thick sheet of aluminum? and bend it on 90 degree angles, drill and countersink and possibly mount it that way onto the boat's wall. For the rack, maybe use the same, or a 1/2" thick and cut out a rack shape, weld it onto a plate the same thickness, then mount that to the one on the boat's wall.
If what I'm saying is complete gibberish, I can maybe render you something... _________________

Haha... Blender..I managed to teach myself and still havn't figured it out.. it's possibly the most confusing and annoying program EVER! If you don't know what's wrong, your time spent can be ruined... Undoing doesn't work well.
Wake Force One, Good luck bro. I'd be glad to see it! Sounds like a good project. _________________

molypod, That's not a bad post. The handrails will work, but how many boats have handrails that are along the side? But yes... Maybe you're right.. Mounting a handrail on the side and making racks like on the post would be a better solution. These side racks would suck for docking.
Maybe putting one on the stern, above the step would be a good alternative. _________________
