Hi, I have been really lucky this summer my first wakeboarding experience has been behind a boat. which has been awesome, but now winters here and because of cost i am now using a cable. Dont get me wrong i'm still enjoying it but unlike with a wake i cant get my fat behind of the pond. Yet it must be possible. I see all these guys flying like superman, have heard them talking about using the whip but i dont quite understand and am a bit worried about looking like an idiot...please help in my bid for awesomeness. All advice considered and probably acted on. Unless you tell me to do it naked smeered in pennut butter. and even then ....maybe.

cheers si

aight, so you wanna ride at a CABLE PARK. its good to get these words right cause then we know what you are talking about. cable parks usually go in a counter clockwise rotation, so when the rope is going around the corner, you edge out, load the line, and then kinda "pop". check the homepage, and on the left hand side it has a bunch of links, one of them will have something to do with cable parks. or simply just search "cable". the search icon is at the top of everypage

Dont know mate i'm from england. I would assume so. i thought they were everywhere...... I remember getting draged round wet and wild in orlando as a kid on a knee board on a cable and that was back in 1990. we have several cable parks in england there certainly seems a lot more of them in europe than elsewhere..... not sure why.

Have you used a cable park?

Hi there have used the cable park twice now, see what you mean about the bouys. Missed once and got huge amounts of slack .... thought i was gonna sink. That only happened in the very beginning no problems now. Trying to work out how to load the line now. Dont really understand what people mean when they say progressive edge?

One of the guys down the park was telling me that in order to jump you have to build up your progressive edge and load the line. when you've done this keeping your upper body still, you then flick your legs/ hips sideways...... this does not seem to work in my head?

han*marie - unfortunately there are no cable parks in Ontario. There is one in Montreal - that's the closest one.

Interesting. I expect there would be a demand for it no? I wonder why no one has targeted that market...are cable parks ever enclosed? That would be amazing for ontario riders during our winters.

Gas prices go up means more money to fill up the boat which means fewer times out on the boat. Put in the demand for wakeboarding and cable parks became the perfect solution. Germany is the size of texas or so and has 50 cable parks while TSR is the only one in Tx
