If any of you have a digital camera and have a XMD1 CD player. Would you be so kind to take a photo of the back your unit? I need to see how it's wired. If you could also note down the serial number, that would be great.

Thanks a bunch.

I can see why you need the wiring schematic but what do you need the serial number for?

PEACE

J DOGG,

Clarion came out with a new wire remote that has an LCD ('03 X-Stars have them). The older models of the XMD1 don't support this new LCD remote. The serial number has to be above 14000 I believe to be compatible.

I replaced my XMD1 with a newer version so that I can use the new remote. Now the new XMD1 is drawing to many amps while off, killing my battery over night. Not sure if the unit is defective or I don't have it wired correctly. Funny how the instructions don't have any sort of diagram.

BTW, this is what it looks like. So much nicer then the non-LCD. I can control the Changer, Deck, Radio, etc and don't have to guess what disc I'm on etc.. The deck also allows me to add a second remote that you can mount in the back of the boat or where ever you want. Pretty slick!

I was gonna do the same thing but I found that the clarions marine stuff is not good for a system set up with more amps and subs etc. Also their car decks are not compatible with any wired remote...UGH! THe marine ones dont play mp3s! I went with the sony mp70 and the sony wired remote marine remote rm-xm10.

TMoney739,

I haven't had any problems wiring up any additional amps. I run all the stuff you see below on that unit. I like the Sony stuff also.
