I'm trying to learn a whirly but I'm having trouble spinning backside without doing a flip so i cant finish the 360. What do I have to do to spin a full 360 and not get this weird flip? ( http://www2.gvsu.edu/~vereshmj/help.html )

All that vid was was a tantrum man. Just initiate the flip then throw your bicep across your face and start the spin.

pbfoot, being that you don't even have the trip flip, or a tantrum down...I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that you probably shouldn't be trying whirlys.

can you land them on the tramp? That should teach you the feeling of the whirly so it's more natural. It looks like you rotate your upper body but it doesn't transition to your lowerbody and you don't spin. It took me a while to land it on the tramp but eventually I figured out how to get my entire body to spin.

If you don't have a tramp available to you I would work on spinning with your arm and your hips as one motion.

K-wood Kid, I couldn't land it on the tramp until I let the line out a bit. My problem was I would get too much line tension and couldn't get the rope over my head.

wakebrad its like when I do it on the tramp I either do them very low and quick or I get stuck at crook. It doesn't matter tramp whirlys aren't too important as long as I got them on water. John I have to give Eddie my final decision today once my dad comes home and stuff so we will see man.

K-wood Kid, sounds like you just need to wait another half second on the tramp, then spin it.

pbfoot, your arm is way too far out and too straight. You need to bend it and wrap it around your face.

I dont think that your cut and tantrum look too bad to perform the trick. But what you did from what i saw, is you started looking across your back shoulder (right arm) at the beginning and then you stopped and thats when you lose your rotation. Just pop and right off the wake, pull with your arm across your face while looking over your back shoulder. KEEP LOOKING. It felt like to me that i spun more than a 3 the first time i did it. Just keep looking at other whirlys and you can look up my whirly at wakepics. Just search for matt g and its the first vid. Good luck and dont let any of these people bring you down man. Its lame

alright heres a good tip, with ur leading hand to innitiate the spin, punch it over top of your head, like just pretend your punching something right over your head while holding the handle

Yeah don`t initiate the spin with your shoulders do it with the handle. You also almost throwing it to late. You need to come aggressive and surf the wake harder and really square up. Then pop it straight up and get you hand on the otherside of your hand, then wait to turn your head so the line doesnt get tight.
