This is scary for anyone who travels frequently by plane!!!!
An actual crack in a US Airways DC-9 window frame!
This could have caused a major in-flight problem! I notified a friend in aircraft certification to see what action the FAA could take.

The crack was probably caused by a sudden blast of pressure. Probably due to faulty plumbing........ Laughing

Umm. I am a plane dork. Parents worked in the Airline field. As a kid I could identify all of them with a quick glance... still have that skill now.

That said, how do you know?

Mike is close. If it was a DC-9 a picture from that spot show a turbine since the DC-9 engines are at the rear sides of the aircraft. After that I searched the tail number and got this:
