I learned heelside backside 180's at the end of last year and turned a few for 360 because the landing was easier.

Of course, the negative progession kicks in and now I can't land em this summer... what the hell am I doing wrong:

I end up landing on my head or back every time, no matter how I turn my head, pull the handle, etc...

Hard to say with out footage.....

I would suspect you are leaving early and getting all off axis...

I would go back to doing HS BS 180's to get the release off the wake back and the spin on axis. Then take them back out to BS 3's....

If you are landing on your head or back every time it sounds like you are going off axis so I'm with J_DOGG on this, go back to BS 180's again then turn them into 3's. Remember, going off axis is usually due to spinning early so that could be your issue, wait until you are close or at peak to initiate the spin.

Also make sure there is not a lot of tension on the rope when doing the trick.

i dono how similar this trick is between wakeboarding and snowabording... but from a snowboarding standpoint it sounds like you're puting too much weight on your toes- causing you to go off axis like the other people said.

edit: nvm i'm stupid. that wouldn't make any sense considering it's a heelside 3.

Also, watch your rope position, I found that keeping it low on my hip helped me a lot with keeping me from drifting of axis, and also make sure you pop THEN spin, as has already been said a few times

try to get the 180 around earlier, but keeping balance while in the air. if you get it early, along with the handlepass, then go ahead and pull the 360 around.

try to remember to initiate your spin after your pop and not before cause starting your spin before you are in the air will throw you off axis.

Thanks guys... I didn't realize the photo didn't show up.. fixed that.

I think I am trying to rotate off the wake, that makes the most sense.

Going to get the 180's back solid again, and then move to the 360.

A trick that seems to help me is to suck my knees up before I even start to spin, it forces me to wait. Like a order of operations for the trick, suck up knees then initiate spin. Hope you get them back, nothing worse than fighting to get back a trick you once had, no pun intended, lol.

dont try and over pass the handle meaning try and land with handle in your back hand but passing to your front. It will help keep you from over rotating and sliding out. Also like liquidmx said pop suck your knees up ,both knees same height seems as if you only do the front or the back it will start to rotate you off axis a lil bit. so use ollie edge pop and suck knees to your chest rotate with the handle as close to your hips as possible and land sort of wrapped. If you concentrate on only doing the bs 180 then uncorking at the last second you will have better luck.
