Usually a rope will have 60 ft, 55, 50, and 45 section... _________________ If the minimum wasn't acceptable it wouldn't be called the minimum. |

Eric2929, Not to be a dick, but the normal usally starts at 70 or 65 feet... And yes, if the rope does not have section take offs, just tie it down. A ton of people that own ropes with section take outs still tie it off because they want the rope in the absolute beefiest part of the wake. _________________

I just started waking so I tied mine at about 60ft, I think it makes it a little less hard. |

Blake, I know that they start further, but if a newbie wants to learn to jump the wake they should not start boarding on anything longer than 60.... _________________ If the minimum wasn't acceptable it wouldn't be called the minimum. |

I suppose I just misread that... But not to get hung up on little details, you are correct for some part. The wake will be smaller thus making it easier to clear, but it also make it hard to get a good progressive edge working too... I like to have my students boards parallel to the boat so they get the most out of the pop. _________________
