Search the forums for more detailed answers and check the newbie form as well but in short

1. When cutting into the wake you progressively increase your cut. In other words as you begin to cut you are just gradually turning the board, from there you increase your edging (increasing your speed) to accelerate yourself into the wake. The point when you are cutting the hardest is when you are at the peak of the wake.

2. There is no perfect speed, it is entirely a matter of personal preference. Most importantly, you should experiment at a viriety of speeds and find what you like best. It's your perfect speed.

3. This is a combination of personal preference, and wake shape, and boat speed. Again, experimentation here is key. Find the length that gives you the best wake for your boat. Sometime an extra five feet can put you in a spot where the wake is much better.

4. Definately, towers are well worth the money IMO. Are they necessary? No, but worth the investment. More important than a tower or $50K boat is a non-stretch rope, it is easily the best $100 you can spend in wakeboarding.

1.) The progressive edge is a way of accelerating and "loading the line" as you cut in towards the wake. This is the proper and best method of hitting the wake and getting into the air. You edge out, start your cut slowly, and continually accelerate towards the wake and holding your edge through the wake.

2.) The perfect speed is different for everyone. If your a full on noob, id say around 17 mph just to get used to your board and carving and learn the proper handle position. As you get more comfortable and want to start jumping the wake id say ride around 18-20 mph with a short line. Then as you progress and get more and more comfortable you can speed it up to anywhere from 19-25 mph. I ride at 19, some people might say thats slow but thats the speed im most comfortable at and i like my wake the best at 19 (x2).

3.) Your rope length is determined by a combination of your speed, your skill level and your boat. Different boats have the best spot on their wake at a different distance at different speeds. The faster you go, the longer your rope has to be. And the longer your rope is, the wider the wake will be and the harder you will have to cut in order to jump the wake.

4.) I would hold off before investing in a tower, although it makes deep water starts and pretty much everything in the air a little easier, you should have no problem getting along without it. Im not sure how much of a noob you are but i would recomend mastering the basics before dropping 1000$s on a tower. Learn to carve, edge, ollie, ollie 180, surface 360, powerslide, jump the wake both heelside and toeside (if your wake is good enough), and wake to wake 180s and all your other basics and then decide if you want to continue to progress and are ready to make that sort of investment, if so, go for it. Just learn your basics first. I was riding behind a 19 foot flat bottom boston whaler a few weeks ago, and managed to stick a few backrolls and even a 3 off an almost nonexistent wake and no tower. Much more important than a tower or a good wake is a nonstretch line. I rode with a stretch line behind my mastercraft x2 (i got my line mixed up with one of our ski lines) and couldnt figure why i just couldnt just get a good progressive edge going. To make sure your line is nonstreth, there is a simple trick. take your hands and pinch 2 portions of your line, about 1-2 inches apart. then compress the line by pushing your two hands together. Release, and if the rope remains in the widened position with the braids all spread out, then it is nonstretch. If it shoots back to its original position, its stretch. Youll have a hard time progressing without a nonstretch line. Hope ive helped, cuz i spent a long time typing this, and i hope no1 answered before me otherwise this would just suck

your right evacool, spending 20 minutes typing that novel and tellin ghim pretty much eveyrthing i know about everyone of those questions was a real dick move. I mean what kind of Bubb Rubbing door knob would do that. And to make things worse, im such a self centered douche bag that i even numbered each response to each question in an effort to make it easier for him to understand the knowledge i was trying to give him. Wow, thankyou for pointing out what a Bubb Rubbing dick I am. But just for fun, why dont u just save us all the time and eat a bucket of stuff instead
