How many have done it and hows it holding up through out the seasons. Thinking about doing it, but afraid it might start peeling off or bubbles appearing from moisture....

I don't have it done on my boat but I know some guys that do. I really don't understand why people do it. i can see tinting our car windows but why tint the boat windows?

| I've only seen 1 boat that looks good with tinted windows, it was an all black x-star. Make sure you don't get a slightly blue tint. I recently saw a boat with that and it was the ugliest thing I've ever seen.

| why do you need tint on a boat? people can still see in, unless the boat has a roof, or are you doing it just for the look?

I was thinking it might also help with some of the glare coming off the gelcoat underneath the window. Is this a wrong assumption???

I'm going to tint my windows tomarrow. no reason except for the looks. I have a blue boat and am going to be tinting the windows a light blue. I think it will look sick. I'm also going to put in a turkey call for my horn just to trip people out.

| I think Brian Grubb's Wakestter looks ugly with the tinted windows. Not a big fan of tinting windows on a boat.

It all depends on the boat as far as I'm concerned, same as cars. Some cars look better with out tint and some cars look better with it. I think the same is true for boats, alot has to do with the colors of it.
For example... My truck is all black, not another color on it. It looked like crap before I tinted the windows. Now it has limo tint on all the windows except the winshield and that has 35%. Same for my boat, it is all black except the SA stickers. I think it will look good with tint on the windows, but if it were yellow or red and didn't have any black in it the tinted windows would look stupid and out of place.
Basically what I'm saying is I think it makes everything look seemless. That being said I don't think it works well going the other way. I don't like the way "colored" tint looks. If you had a red, blue, or silver boat I would not try to put that color tint on the windows. I'm not a fan of the colored tints. To me they don't look right and don't flow well with the color of the vehicle they're trying to match. That brings me to another trend that has started to come about recently... Cutting out designs in tint looks wrong. (flames, symbols, whatever) To me it looks stupid and it also negates to whole purpose of tinting windows in the first place. You want it for privacy, or light and heat protection of the interior. Cutting big pieces out screws you out of any of those benifits, also I think it would be weird trying to look out your window and trying to pick what part of the glass you want to look out of. That would drive me up the wall...
In closing of this long ass post I would like to say do what you want! Everyone has their own personallity and style. These are just my $0.02...

Tint will make the reflections off the dash worse, so if you've got a light colored dash, you will have a hard time seeing past the reflections.

Were getting ours tinted on Wed. it gonna cost us $80 to do it. Also, I have never seen a boat in Idaho with the windows tinted. It will be a new trend over here. I heard about one guy that moved up here from cali last year with tinted windows, but he moved away.

What does this do to your vision out the windshield? Since I board primarily on the TN river, I want to make sure I can see the bodies floating in front of me before I run then over and maul them up. Make's more work for the morgue. Does anybody have any first hand experience?

| I was on Raider Lefty's this weekend and it didn't make much of a difference. Most of the time you are out onthe water it is sunny as hell and you can see though it just fine or you are pulling and are up on the seat looking over the windsheild (at least that's how I drive). Come to think of it, I never really sit down all the way when driving.

S-man, why don't you post a pic of your boat and I will Photoshop it with tinted windows so you know what to expect.
Anyone else too.

Core,
You tinted the windshield of your TRUCK?!?! Don't you get pulled over all the time? That would definitely get a cop's attention around here.

Yeap, the entire front windshield is 35%, and the rest of the windows are 2.5%. I would have gone darker on the front but I wanted to see some at night! I only drive the truck when I'm pulling my boat (have company truck during week) and just here and there every now and then. Not many chances to get pulled over. Acctually in Alabama the window tint laws say that all my windows are illegal. I'm not suppose to have any darker than 35% on any window, but breaking the law is fun and on an all black truck it looks better. Here's a pic but it's not the best angle.
