well I noticed you're not edging into the wake.. your egde should be at it's peak when you hit the wake. _________________ http://www.myspace.com/galen96 |

Chocolate Sauce, why would he try to land an OA 360 before he can even land a regular one...?
A7XHC, DO NOT spin right off the wake, this will cause you to lose your equal balance in the air, when doing a regular 360 your balance should be equal as if you had a rod in the middle of your back while your spinning. when passing the handle dont let go with your right hand until both hands are on at the same time and you know you wont lose it, when your back is facing the boat , both hands should be firmly gripped to the handle and wait until you are half way around your last 180 of the spin to let go with your right hand. hold on tight when you land and pull on the handle to keep your balance from falling on your back _________________ The Boat: http://www.wakesiderides.com/rides/index.php?page=out&id=1507

I think you problem is edging in too fast to the wake so you have far too much tension on your rope for you to rotate. This trick should be done in olie edge instead of progressive edge. The olie edge should give you more pop in the air instead of power on your rope and you should be easier to rotate with more slack on your rope. Find out what an olie edge is, If you don't know what it is.

Why would he try and do an off axis 3 when he cant even to frontside 3.
You need to keep a proggressive edge your straigting up right before the bottom of the wake. You need to make sure you keep that edge all the way through the wake |

wake_carver, in a way...
A7XHC, find somewhere to practice your handle passes and get them flowing smoothly on a trampoline or somthing and then try it out on the water. it will be much easier to land the 360 if you can come down with the handle. _________________ Wake Forest University |

Trampoline really helps. I think the most important thing for me is to look at the tower of the boat right after you pop up, then starting to turn you head and shoulder- you want to look at the tower of the boat again and that will complete your 360 spine. You can practice all that on a trampoline.
About handle passing, attach a small bucket of water at the end of a short handle (about 2 ft.), stand firm and swing it aroung you body, passing the handle at the front and the back of your body, but be sure to keep your handle close to your body as if you were doing your 360's.
Keep practicing and really engrave it in your muscle memory so you don't even think about it when doing your 360's. |

Johnnyringo2418, it works well. Make sure you keep the handle close to your body. Don't cheat!
Try it and let me know if it helps your handle passing on water. |

You should keep the handle in closer. Wait for the pop, then pull the handle with BOTH hands towards your back hip, that initiates your spin better and keeps the handle in close to your body so you can find it easier with your other hand. The bucket trick does help. _________________ go big or go home |

| i definitely get enough air for the 360, but when i go for it, i cant even finish the full rotation i just end up falling on my back. could this be because i start my rotation right off the wake? i am pretty sure thats what i do...i dont want to start it in mid air. i feel like i wont have enough time to finish the spin. |

You need to do two things
1. it looks like your trying a grab. DONT! just get your hand around and grab the rope
2. Grab the rope the landing requires the boats pull to keep you standing the boat is half of your balance |

Something that really helped me learn 3's was learning to do them wrapped first. This just kind of gives you the feeling of what it's like to do one. Once i got pretty good at doin wrapped 3's, handle pass ones became much much easier.
Also, practicing on a trampoline w/ an old pair of shoes and skate deck really helped me. _________________ "What? When did the ballast break? Where's some fat chicks when you need them?" |
