ok guys i got a new board and bindings a couple weeks ago and tried them out this weekend. they are the new hyperlite skate bindings. getting them on with some newt juice is not a problem and they are pretty comfortable after i get them on but getting them of is a pain in the but. they require alot of pushing and pulling to get them off. is this normal for new bindings or are they just not right for me? im just worried i might have a bad crash and break my foot because the binding wont come off.

Normal.

My binding are quite tight on my feet. Definately even cuts off the circulation if I have them laced too tight for too long. I have to climb back in the boat and lube up to get them off and it usually takes the help of 2 or three friends to get out of them. Most crashes I stay in them, however the occasional cought toe edge knocks me clean out of them. Staying in is WAY safer than having only one foot come out and twisting your leg.

mine are velcro, so it might be different, but cant you just untie or un-velcro them when your done? thats what i do. and mine are pretty tight to the point where my foot begins to feel numb after a couple runs.

I have a size 12.5 or 13 foot in size xl obrien exit 13 bindings. My foot size is just at the top end of what will fit. Even with them fully unlaced it takes quite a bit of work to get my oversized peds in and out. I think a lot of people may have a similar problem with binings that offer good support. Its just the nature of the beast. And wraps are even worse!

rs4duke, , my old blindside bindings were like that, there was almost no possible way to get them on with out some slime, and it took 2 friends to help me out everytime, not to mention that i would rip off liek 10 toe hairs...

I just bought new Liquid Force Spynx bindings, and now i need no slime to get them on and i can get the off myself in the water without any problem..

perfect binding fit is very important

Binding lube will help greatly, and it wont wreck the bindings. Some shaving cream or soaps will degrade certain rubbers and foams, but ive never had a problem using shaving cream.

You could also try a mizture of biodegradable hand soap and water in a spray bottle.

rs duke hey man just like with a baseball mit or something of similiar nature you have to break your bindings in man. What helps besides just riding them is to maybe put a coke can in the top and soemthing in your foot hole to really stretch them a little. In fear of over stretching them start slow and build it up if the problem still occurs.
