Fat sac treatment?

I don't know a whole lot about fat sacs but I have a couple questions about mine:

1) is it alright to leave them filled for awhile or do you have to drain them ALL the time??

2) are they fine to have "some" water left inside cause it seems impossible to get it all out? no real way to dry the inside out right?

3) Can they be stored wet or should they get dry before being stored??

if your trailering, the dumbest thing you can do, is leaving the water in the ballast, puts stress on your engine (car), the trailer bunks, and wheels, and puts some stress on the boat hull

If your boat is in the water, you can leave them filled as long as your not on a lift. I wouldn't tow with them filled. Like Mobe said, it's too stressfull on everything.

When draining, just take the caps off and try to get as much water out as you can. It's impossible to get it all out like you said. Replace caps so they don't get lost.

I would recommend letting the exterior bag cover dry before storing. If you are storing for say the "winter off-season", then seperate the bag from the cover and let both dry completely before storage. I usually roll mine and store them in an ice chest over the winter in my garage.

if you leave them filled for weekd on end drop a 20g chlorine tablet in....

will stop it going smelly and aid the water in not going stagnant over time...
