i was just looking, and saw lines and handles.... lines were like from 80-100 bucks, thats alot, does the line really matter, just wondering, and then the handles were seperate and were the same price range, thats expensive, i never relized that it was like that, i always asumed they came together (i ride cable, os i dont need to buy them), i know the handles make differences, but does the line really matter? are they all alike or different?

I ride cable only, but a line makes a difference by how much stretch it has, or actually it doesn't have. Non-stretch rope allows you to go higher and helps you pull through your flips and spinds, I think by storing energy (correct me someone if I'm wrong). Also other "properties" of ropes are strength, if they are "tangle-free," and if they float.

yeah the rope is really important. spectra ropes have no strech which is what you want. i think the accurate jacket line is really nice. then for handles usually any 15 inch handle with a eva grip is good.

yea, its something about the way you get pop is buy pulling on the rope. And if the rope stretches when you get to the top of the wake the rope will pull in and you won't get any pop, and it also trys to pull you over.

The rope essinentaly pulls you into the wake...there fore if the line streches you wont get the right edge...extemely important to have a good line, more so than a good handle, IMO...

Yeah, can't wait to see you at nationals Smile by then my wakeskating experience will practically... quadruple =P

I believe Derrick said in an earlier post that the benefits of spectra line at the cable isn't as beneficial as it is to behind the boat, due to the wake of course. You plan on starting to ride behind the boat wakegurl?

Nah, the first time I ever ridden behind cable was once in november, then a couple times december, a couple in january, and maybe 4 times in february. March is when I kinda started going regularly (as in only 2x a week), I have to drive 45 minutes to get to TSR Sad

This year, since i'm pretty still inexperienced, I'm only going to stay here this year. We'll see what happens next year Razz, good luck on the tour though, have fun =P.

As far as with the rope using a boat, it's your only connection to the boat that keeps you going, so yes, all that stuff mentioned earlier is pretty important Wink

In fact you shouldn't hold it like a baseball bat, it's like in Shaun Murray's Detention DVD, looks like theese beginners are trying to turn by turning the handle, it's not a car people! =P

Hrmm, need a boat rider to answer your question, but they probably would need more detail on how you are edging and etc.
